Danny doesn't know how to feel when his parents tell him that his dad's sister's family is coming to stay with them for a few weeks to witness turning on the portal. He's even Less sure how to feel when the portal doesn't work, and he's left home alone as Jazz takes the adults out to dinner to drown their sorrows. No wait, not alone- he has to babysit his twin cousins. Great. Just great.
Dipper wasn't at all excited about their road trip... until he found out his mysterious aunt and uncle were GHOST HUNTERS. How cool was that? It didn't even really matter that the portal thing didn't work, because there was still So Much cool stuff in that lab, and their only supervision was their gloomy cousin. It wouldn't hurt to take a look around, right? ...Right?

“And why should I-” Ford begins to say, anger building ever hotter, before somehow Stanley manages to shock Ford once again. Stan reaches behind him and pushes a kid forward from where he’d apparently been hiding just out of sight.
A kid.
A child, really.
A kid who looks a little familiar. Something about the shape of his nose. It reminds Ford of his mom, in a way. And the hair reminds him of his dad. And Stanely has this kid. That is with him. Right now. On Ford’s porch in Gravity Falls.
“Stanley,” Ford says, in a rush that screams he should’ve finished drinking his coffee before answering the door, “You have-”oOo
Ford's research is interrupted by his estranged brother showing up on his doorstep with a kid who claims to be time traveller. Meanwhile in the present, Stan and Mabel try to figure out how to get Dipper back to the right time. There will be secrets revealed, old wounds readdressed, and above it all a one-eyed demon watches with interest.

I inexplicably broke into a sweat. It was one thing to hear about the Greek gods through my cousin, but another thing entirely to talk to a Greek demigod that wasn't her or Percy. “Apollo? The Greek sun dude?” In other words, Not a Norse deity of free-falling into dumpsters?
