Summary
He’d thought the pumpkin situation would be one of those moments Eddie would tease him about forever… and yeah, he did—but something changed that night.
Now, a year later, Buck was standing in the middle of their shared living room—god, he couldn’t believe he could call it theirs and not just Eddie’s living room, with hands on his hips, staring down at the pile of fake spiderwebs that refused to cooperate. Now listen, he promised Eddie that this year would have normal amounts of decorating. No “Buck-level disasters.” No “Impulsive ideas that led to near-death-by-pumpkin.”
But as he surveyed the pile of decorations, the haunted-house props, and the pieces of a ten-foot skeleton still half in its box, Buck had to admit… he might’ve gone a little overboard… again.
It wasn’t his fault, really. He just wanted it to be perfect—their first Halloween together. Now look, everything Buck seems to touch always seems to have a little ‘Bad Luck Buck’ attached to it. It was like he was cursed or something. He swears, this time will be different. It had to. He had Eddie! Eddie has a silver star, so that had to mean something when it came to breaking this damn curse.Series

Summary
When the 118 jokingly launches a Cowboy Competition to learn who is more Cowboy. Buck and Eddie find themselves in the middle of a playful showdown—Montana ranch hand versus Texas native.
____
Buck wasn’t oblivious to it—the way Eddie’s gaze lingered just a little too long, the way his jaw flexed like he was trying not to react. It made something flutter in Buck’s chest. Something warm. Hopeful. Maybe even dangerous. And then the music shifted into something fast and easy, and Buck reached out his hand.
“Come on. I promise not to lasso anyone.”Eddie huffed a laugh, but he took the offered hand anyway.
Buck led him toward the edge of the dance floor, feet already tapping in time with the beat, and as they fell into the simple steps, Buck let himself watch—really watch—Eddie find it.
That rhythm. That spark. That joy.
Eddie’s smile started small, hesitant. But with each beat, each movement, it grew. Buck watched Eddie dance with joy. Buck couldn’t look away.
God, he was so gone.
And when Eddie turned mid-step, grinning, hat-lighted Buck standing just inches away, all Buck could think was:
I want to dance with him like this forever.

Summary
When Eddie leaves for El Paso to be with Christopher, Buck struggles with the distance. Moving into Eddie’s house only makes it worse—every room feels empty without Eddie and Chris in it. To cope, Buck and Eddie start a long-distance prank war.
_________
“You know what else is your fault?”“Enlighten me.”
“You falling for Freddie Fakeman.”
Eddie groaned. “I’m never going to live that down, will I?”
“Nope.” Buck grinned. “And because of that, I think it’s only fair I get to start messing with you more.”
Eddie snorted. “Yeah? You and what army?”
“Don’t underestimate my skills and if I need to there is always Chim and Ravi.”
“Oh hell, you’re serious.” Eddie muttered.
Of course, he was serious! When was he ever not serious? Okay, yeah, he wasn’t going to think about that.
Buck grinned as Eddie said the three words that would start everything. “This means war.”

Summary
Inspired by Captnsunshine's 911 fanart where Buck gets his head stuck in a pumpkin.
Buck let's his intrusive thoughts win.
Happy early Halloween! 🎃"Eddie," Buck began, trying to sound casual, but the nerves crept into his voice. "I need... uh, I need a little help."
There was a pause on the other end. "With what?"
Buck hesitated, cringing a little. “It’s not that big of a deal,” Buck tried to explain, his voice muffled by the pumpkin. “I just… got my head stuck, but I’m fine. Totally fine.”
There was a beat of silence on the other end of the line before Eddie’s incredulous voice came through. “Wait—you got your head stuck in what?”
“A pumpkin,” Buck mumbled, hoping Eddie didn’t catch that.
“A what?” Eddie sounded like he was holding back a laugh.
“Pumpkin, okay? I got my head stuck in a pumpkin! But I’m fine. It’s fine. Just—could you come over?”

Summary
Buck is fucking frozen. His mouth is dry, and his brain is blank except for oh no, oh fuck reverberating in his frontal lobe. He can’t answer. He feels the pressure against the metaphorical closet door, the hinges creaking against the weight of the boxes crashing down.
“Are those… hearing aids?” He registers Eddie's voice through the ringing in his ears.
It takes him a moment before he can finally whisper it out. He feels his head nod against his will.
“Yeah.”
The door gives out.
or: how a conversation about tardigrades results in buck grappling with a disability he's suppressed, getting hearing aids, and realizing that the family he craves has been there for him all along. in that order.
