Roy loads the stupid pink leopard thing into Keeley's car, carefully wrapping a stray hoodie around its head to keep its stupid little porcelain ears from getting chipped on its journey to her new life. He takes the plane tickets out of his jacket pocket and stares at them for a moment. Then he stomps back inside, plants his feet in the middle of the lobby, and bellows, "TARTT!"
Jamie's naked top half pops out of the doorway to the gym. "Yeah, Coach?"
Roy tucks the tickets back into his jacket and says, "Let's fucking go."

Roy folds his arms, glaring. "All right, what the fuck is going on here? Why have you suddenly decided to fancy me?"
"I haven't suddenly decided, I've always fancied you. Just didn't know until today that you'd be up for it."
Roy reminds himself sternly that he cannot murder their star striker the day before a match. "Just because I'm interested in blokes doesn't mean I'm interested in you."
Jamie looks confused. "It doesn't? But..." He gestures at his face as if it's incontrovertible evidence, then down his body like a closing argument.
Roy cannot murder him. The media would be intolerable.

Shoes was helping herself to the parts of a motorcycle that was way too nice to be left unattended at night in this part of town. It was sure to be a decent pay out, until she heard the stupid robot voice call out from behind her, “You know, this is like some fucked-up, backwards deja vu for me.”
She tensed for a moment but didn’t bother turning to see the Red Hood there. At some point after the big bad crime boss started giving her tips on how to get away with stealing or offering her his fucking jacket in the cold, he started to lose his edge of intimidation. Instead she focused on removing the back tire of the bike and saying, “This is just some routine maintenance.”

Then gifts start arriving at his apartment, on the first of every month, like clockwork, like an apology. There is never any note, but the wrapping paper is Japanese, thick and expensive, and always blue-black.
He could pretend they were from anyone; from Alfred, or from Bruce, as unlikely as that would be. The lack of a signature made it easy to compartmentalise again. Perhaps that was the point.
It was usually food, or astronomically expensive, understated clothing that Tim would never buy for himself. Once, when his prescription ran out, it was melatonin; of course that little- whoever it was, kept tabs on that.

A young Damian attempts to initiate a relationship with a horrified Tim. Damian swears that he won't be refused, and begins a five year, long-distance campaign of seduction via gift giving, poetry and abortive attempts to get Tim to just sleep for once.

"Is Jason alive?" Bruce whispered once, in a voice he rarely used anymore. "Clark? Is he really here? With us?"
"Yeah." Clark kissed him on the forehead with such tenderness that Bruce wanted to die. "He's fine. His heart is beating strong. I can hear him, B. He's still out on patrol. Tim is eating a cheeseburger with Kon a couple blocks from the old theater on 6th Street. Dick... Dick's laughing at something Damian's telling him. They're all safe."
That was the moment. That was the moment Bruce understood why no one would ever understand him as much as Clark did. He also realized no one could ever hold his brokenness and love him as Clark does, in silence and in the dark.
(Or, Bruce is having a hard time accepting Dick and Jason's relationship, but not for the reasons one might expect.)
