To recapture the boundless energy of her youth. Lately, she's been feeling very depressed. One night, she comes across a book about Night City. Inside, Judy's shocked to see an interview with V and Lily. She decides to reach out to her calabacita, and thus begins the journey of two former lovers trying to rediscover themselves in a crazy, chaotic world. As their feelings, fantasies, and desires coalesce and deepen, will they rekindle their love, or will V ultimately choose a different future?

"Damn." V hissed to herself. She must be hallucinating. Her muscles locked taut for a few seconds, then relaxed into uneasy spasms. Her nerves were shot. She was slipping off the chair. She hissed again, her jaw stiffer than a rusted door hinge. "Damn."
Across the polished expanse of the oval table, dark limoge, blacker than midnight, Meredith Stout laughed, her voice lead lustrous like synth-beats. The thin straps of her fluorescent nylon gold-black Prada dress slipped down her pale, sharp shoulders. V slipped further too, a slab of bodycast meat. She hit the floor with a dull sound.
"Good try." Stout purred above her, her foot toying with V's paralyzed limbs. "But not quite good enough."

A small-time merc living on the bottom, V thought she could find a path to the top through Militech agent Meredith Stout. Expecting quick Eddies at the start, V soon found herself entangled in a grand conspiracy that launched a multitude of tumultuous affairs, whirlwinds of alliances and betrayals, and a confrontation with a foe mightier than even the megacorps that rule Night City.

Together with the nomads, they seek out a cure for V's terminal condition. Things aren't easy...but V, Judy, and the family know things aren't ever easy, nor simple.
Chapter titles are all inspired by Judy and V-based missions in the game, so 9 total chapters and an epilogue :) Music plays a huge role, thus the inspiration for the fic's title.
