(I've been playing the game wayyyy too much. I love it. Anyways, here's my idea for a rewrite!)
What if Link had a secret about his childhood that he never told anyone? What if the chosen hero of Hylia wasn't a Hylian? Falling in love with the princess from afar, once he pulls the sword and becomes her guard, he decides not to tell anyone about being a Gerudo prince... seeing as how that ended up last time.
It worked until the calamity left him in a shrine... with Zelda missing, Link realizes that he left more than just his memories behind for those one-hundred years...
