Summary
An alternate first meeting, where Ghost and Soap meet each other in the field under infinitely worse circumstances than either of them would have liked:
Ghost wakes up in a pit under a building with a bomb attached to him, certain he's going to die. Soap, an EOD tech amongst his other specialties, is the only person available to at least try to save him. It should be fraught, and tense, and miserable all around, and it is; a whole lot of Ghost slowly losing his mind while Soap does everything he can to save his life. But it would probably be easier if Ghost wasn't a stress-flirter, and if Soap wasn't the kind of endlessly competent that he loved, and if, by virtue of their situation, they didn't keep ripping open each other's wounds and then patching each other back up again after.

Ghost can feel that something's off with the new transfer into their team the moment the man steps out of the heli with swaying hips and an easy smile curling around his lips.
Ghost is about to lose his mind. He cannot identify what's confusing off about Soap. Even worse, he feels his heartbeat picking up every time he catches Soap's gaze on him, the constant blush in his vicinity not even throwing him off anymore with how much he has get used to it.
He's beyond fucked. Maybe there isn't even something special about Soap, maybe Ghost just has an insane crush on the Scot.Ghost's gut feeling tells him something is special about Soap. Is it because he's a mythical being or just Ghost's trans radar going off? Or maybe even both...?

He quickly navigated through his browser history until he pulled up the same video he had been playing in the bathroom. It automatically started playing and he quickly stopped it before he heard any obvious noises. He waited a moment, heard Ghost cough and shuffle around before settling in. He was pushing his luck watching porn in the bathroom, but this was downright dangerous. If Ghost, or anyone, caught him he could kiss his rank and privileges goodbye. Hell, probably end as a dishonorable discharge for being a fucking perv. He had never been more turned on in his life.

Ghost couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe that he had been so naive, so clueless. Couldn't believe that he had forgotten how Tommy's death affected him. Forgotten how he swore that he'd never attach to anyone else. But Soap was just… he looked like a person who could cure Ghost, who could make him let go of all the problems he had carried. His charming smile, his gestures, his fucking face. It all made Ghost's heart scream in joy and hope that maybe, maybe Soap was the one. All of Ghost's hopes were crushed by this new motherfucker.
