At least when Eishia's in uniform, she knows what people expect of her. She's hardly even a person in other's visions then – just a body with a role to fulfill. Eishia knows how to operate within those parameters, but here with all those eyes on her she thinks she could have drowned.
"It's a pretty dress, though. Ya don't like it?"
Or: Eishia doesn't handle attention attention well.

This is kinda nice, Enjin thinks, enjoying the companionable silence as he picks his pen back up. While he thrives in conversation, slowing down is also its own type of joy.

It's like this always, it seems. The world at large has accepted Givers when they're on the field, fighting enemies, but people are far more suspicious when a jinki is related to humans – changing them, healing them, is somehow less trustworthy. The memory leaves a bad taste in Zanka's mouth, especially when he remembers how close the patient had been to getting violent.

Summary
The man shrugs, extracts one, places it into his mouth and picks his pen up again. He rubs crumbs onto the paper, then brushes them off onto the table. Kento’s jaw twitches. Silence descends upon them. Kento watches the man write in messy strokes, chuckle and grunt and sigh. He’s grading papers Kento realizes, moving through a hefty stack and staining the trailing edges of his cardigan in ink that’s slow to dry in the cool air.
“You teach?”
And Kento only wants to know because the work on the paper appears to be highly convoluted mathematical equations.
Blue eyes jump back up to him.
“I do. I teach theoretical quantum physics at the university and do a specialized course focussed solely on Hegel. If you’re interested I only teach it in the fall.” The man winks.
“You teach quantum physics?”
“Theoretical quantum physics, yeah,” the man smiles a little oddly at Kento, before he beams. “Do I not look the part?”
In which two men become linked regardless of the distance separating them.

Eishia knew it.
It was always the same with non-givers. They eyed her warily, too hesitant on trusting a girl wielding electricity to heal their injuries. They cursed at her, shouted, and sometimes even became physical, despite the fact that she had already healed their wounds. Each time, the pressure piles on her shoulder, dragging her lower and lower until all she could see was the soles of their feet stepping on her, burying her with the dead.
