Summary
While working undercover posing as an escort, Reno's recklessness and arrogance leads him straight into a terrifying predicament he's not sure he can get out of on his own. Reno is understandably shaken after the fact and blames himself for the incident and for his and Rude's failure to complete the job, while Rude feels equally if not more at fault for failing to watch his partner's back as efficiently as he could have.

While camping with the group, Ardyn disguises himself as Gladiolus, lures Prompto outside of camp, and attacks him. Back at camp, Gladio hears Prompto calling for help and rushes to his aide. Prompto is left shaken and confused, unsure who to trust... while Gladio is equally confused and then frustrated by the younger man's fear of him.

During a routine dungeon exploration, Prompto and Gladio fall down into a pit and have to wait at the bottom for Ignis and Noctis to go back to camp to get supplies to help them climb back out. Prompto is minorly injured and somewhat panicked, while Gladio struggles with feelings of failure due to being unable to solve the problem himself.

The terrifying encounter eventually leads to Noctis ending up at Prompto's house looking at a wall of his new friend's photos and thinking to himself just how worthy of protection and genuine love Prompto is.

While stalking teenage Noctis in Insomnia, Ardyn accidentally notices the prince's young friend Prompto and decides to kidnap him to bring him to Verstael. Prompto attempts escape at every chance during the trip to meet his maker, angering Ardyn who has very little patience and a rather sadistic outlook on the situation. Over the span of the trip, Ardyn is surprised to find himself developing a sort of empathy and care towards the boy, while Prompto begins to wonder if Ardyn might not be as bad of a person as he claims to be.

Reno breaks out in a full shiver when Rude rolls up his shirtsleeves to reveal his forearms, one of which is covered in swirls of black ink. When Rude unbuckles his belt and slowly pulls it free from the loops, running a hand down the thick leather, Reno sways like he’s going to pass out. He stares at Rude’s knees, taking shallow breaths.
Rude doubles the belt in his hand and lifts his partner's chin with the loop.
“Belt ok?”
Tseng pairs Rude with Reno to help even out and protect the unpredictable younger Turk. Rude keeps finding reasons to put his hands on his partner. He's not gentle.
