How many days had it been by now?
Easy. 648 days, 10 hours, 47 minutes, 13 seconds, 14 seconds, 15–you get it. That's how long Dave had been stuck wandering the crannies of this shit hole rock and killing time. Counting seconds. Every grating moment. Being so painfully aware of each moment is honestly grueling.
Counting every moment against his will, watching the time go by. Wandering the same dark rooms and halls, talking to the same handful of people, over and over.
Dave found it funny, how he'd gotten himself out of one isolated prison and into another. Escaped Bro’s creep lair only to get stuck on a nearly empty rock hurtling toward certain danger. Leaving broken timelines and dead versions of himself scattered across time.
All while having to maintain the same stupid schtick. Dave grew tired of his own nonsense sometimes. When he was alone and tired from keeping up the mask, the weight would hit him. The jokes and quippy remarks can only distract him for so long. Eventually it all starts to drag on him. The weight of every action, every inaction, every trauma beyond control.
