Summary
Dazai did not want to hold Chuuya’s hand. The only reason he was thinking about it was experimental curiosity about the otherworldly thing possessing the hatrack.
He didn’t want it, so it would be fine. Dazai only lost things that he wanted, so as long as he didn’t want it, he couldn’t lose anything.(Alternatively: after they hold hands to defeat Randou, Dazai has a lot of yearning, and he deals with his emotions in a characteristically avoidant manner. By indulging himself whenever Chuuya is knocked out post-Corruption.)

The shaking in his ash black fingertips have worsened and Dazai can’t even hold them, because Chuuya’s hands are all fragile and broken from carrying the weight of the world.
“It will heal,” Dazai promises, eyes deceptively steely even as his breath catches in a desperation of his own. “It always does. You’re going to be all better.”

Dazai draped his hands over Chuuya’s shoulders, letting out a dramatic whine. “Check Twitter, Chuuya! They're already onto me!"
Chuuya smirked. "Sounds like a you problem, bastard. Don't rope me into this," he said, Dazai letting out an affronted gasp. Did Chuuya not understand what he'd done?
"But it's chibi's fault!" He complained, but Chuuya only shrugged. "That's not my problem," he said, nodding at the monitor. "They don't exactly know that."
"And what if they find out it's you? Most of my chat hates you!" Dazai whined, shaking his head. "They'll have my head!"
But Chuuya? Dazai's chat was not fond of the more straightforward and aggressive streamer.
"Your brats are just like you," Chuuya replied. "Annoying and dramatic. You did it to yourself, love."

“I don’t need a fucking nanny,” he snaps. Watching Dazai bristle is like watching a rock start talking. They’re standing with a cliff between them even though Chuuya could reach out and grasp his tie and choke him to death. Chuuya’s brain is still a scramble of images flashing at the back of his head; the shower of bullets he had to keep away from Dazai, the smug smirk he got in return. Them. Always them when they’re deployed together, and Chuuya’s reminded what it means to miss someone when he’s toeing his shoes alone on the foyer, mission completed.
They’re two worlds colliding, and Chuuya isn’t a selfish man. He only wishes he could steal something—it’s not like he wants to keep Dazai or anything—but just… a keepsake. And that would be disgusting; wanting. “I’m okay. I’ve done this countless times without your stupid help."
