When little Tim comes to Jason for help to off his parents, Jason decides to adopt him cause clearly Bruce isn't up to the job.
(This started off as a regular Jason-adopts-Tim fic and somehow ended up with them in Russia with Young Justice and the al Ghuls so read at your own risk)
(Jason adopted Tim to save him from his asshole parents. To keep him safe. Then Damian adopted Tim and declared himself the older brother, because obviously the more mature one is the oldest. Then Talia adopted Tim. Then Dick and Bruce found out Jason's alive. Then Dick got happy because he now has a new baby brother, Damian! And Bruce got sad because Jason doesn't wanna talk to him. Three days ago, rumors began circling the underground that Red Hood took over the Iceberg Lounge from Cobblepot. Two days ago, a couple of Lounge employees got fired. Yesterday, the Lounge manager turned up dead.
Most people would run far away from that situation.
Instead, Tim rocked up to the Iceberg Lounge at 2.30pm on a Wednesday, a fresh set of dye in his hair, his favorite jean booty shorts with sequin stars on the back pockets, and a dream.

“Oh, are you guys talking about Jason?” said a familiar mechanized voice from across the rooftop, and the Bats spun around to spot the Red Hood casually leaning against the rooftop access door. “I miss that kid, he was a riot. Hope he’s doing alright.”
There was a moment of silence as the entire group stared at Red Hood, processing his words, and then Red Robin blurted, “Wait, you know Jason?”
“Sure,” Red Hood responded breezily, amusement written in the lines of his posture. “We got pushed into the Pit at the same time. He went a little crazy and fell off a cliff, but shit could only go up from there, am I right?”
The Bats find out that Jason Todd is alive and apparently has questionable taste in friends, if the Red Hood is any indication.

Jason feels the tension fall completely out of his shoulders. Babyest bird is not feeling unsafe, right now; Tim doesn’t get this bitchy around people unless he trusts them.
Random civilians and corporate fuckwits, they get soft-spoken, laughing Timothy Drake. Anyone Tim’s not quite comfortable with-- people he has to impress, like the Justice League-- get the world’s most perfect and efficient Robin. Seriously, it’s terrifying. He wears his competency like a sword and doesn’t bother with a shield.
So, a snarky Tim-- a Tim who lashes out, without regard for if he’ll be hit back-- is a trusting Tim. A comfortable Tim.

Bruce had his two sons, his two little robins. They followed him around everywhere, in the manor and as Batman. He thought nothing would happen, he should have known nothing ever works out for him. Robins that soared too high and fell even farther.
Then came Jason and Dick. So much like the little birds that roamed the mansion. They would never meet their brothers, but they would know their legacy.
The story of the birds buried in the garden will keep their legacy alive.

It’s like he can feel the void Jason Todd has left behind, and it makes him unexpectedly ache. You’d think it wouldn’t, maybe, since Tim is in a rare position of absolutely knowing there at least can be something after death. But no, it doesn’t help at all. If anything, it almost makes it worse.
At least if he were a fellow Gotham ghost, even a weaker shade, he’d still, in some way, be here. Where he was born and bred, where he learned to fly, where he belongs. But from what Tim can tell, he isn’t.
He’s just… gone.
Tim Drake is a ghost; literally — he died like four years ago. However, he does not let this stop him from helping Batman. And in the wake of Jason Todd's death (and the aforementioned Batman's truly terrible lack of healthy coping mechanisms), he's not taking no for an answer.
