He watched as Lily Potter’s eyes flew between her husband, him, and the crying toddler she was clutching to her chest. Time seemed to slow, yet quicken at once as he watched her put it together. As he watched as she tried to comprehend just who stood before her.
At last she whispered, so soft he might have missed it if it weren’t so painfully quiet in the room, “Harry?”
