Summary
Casmir laughs softly, Astarion’s flirting washing over him and rolling off like water against silken feathers. He had realized early that it was a careful mask, Astarion’s face like the perfect porcelain of a doll and his eyes just as dead. Casmir has to wonder how no one else had noticed before—and then realizes that they likely hadn’t wanted to. Astarion was beautiful and his words were honeyed and dripping sweetness, anything with a pulse would likely weep to have his attentions turned on them.
But Casmir could see behind it every once in a while, finding something much quieter and more precious than what Astarion put on like a veneer of glitter and gold.
(Or, Casmir likes doing kind things for Astarion. Astarion doesn't know how to deal with that.)

His eyes skitter nervously towards Hua Cheng and then away again; the tension in Hua Cheng’s shoulders, in his entire body, stretches closer to snapping. It feels like every muscle is straining under the weight of this, like every cell in his body is rebelling against this…this horror.
Still, he manages to say what Xie Lian apparently cannot: “He just doesn’t remember me.”

Dabi shakes his head because he can’t fall into his memories now, they’re in the middle of a war and he can’t afford to let something this stupid be his downfall. He’s not there. He isn’t there. This can’t be happening now - he’ll be sent straight to Tartarus if he’s incapacitated, he can't let himself be vulnerable.
He makes a horrible, pained noise and clutches his head, pulls at his hair in hopes it’ll get the oncoming breakdown to stop, praying that whatever is about to happen doesn’t.

“Your majesty.” The man in horrifically opulent robes bows low, the ridiculous sleeves pooling on the floor in a puddle of silk. “We have brought you a spoil of war, captured during the battle of Kamino, a rare and exotic creature for your household.” Touya sits up a little in interest, this was rather unusual as far as presents for his father went. The doors open with a heaving groan, and Touya leans forward in open interest. He was expecting a large cage to be wheeled in, containing some fantastical creature like a small wyvern or a kirin. Instead the servants yank on heavy chains, pulling in a young man with massive crimson wings.
“A harpy, your majesty, tamed and trained for battle by the enemy. He was captured in combat, and has spent the last six months undergoing training to become a suitable pet for the royal household. I give him to you, your majesty, to serve whichever role his highness pleases.”

Keigo's not expecting his soulmate to care for him, he's not expecting to end up caring for the League of Villains, and he's definitely not expecting a happy ending. He's wrong, on all accounts.
