“Mhm I hope it's soon,” Cole added, nuzzling Jay’s temple lightly. “You’re too hot, Kai. Literally.”
“You said to use my room,” Kai defended, not even sounding the least bit offended by the accusation. Their banter was more so out of comfort than actually meaningful. It was probably just their meek attempt to stay awake long enough for Zane to get here. “Sorry if the elemental master of fire has a warm bedroom…”

Murmura lotus, also known as the persuader plant. A strange flowering plant of the order Liliales, known for it's affect upon the sapient mind. Most commonly found in the floating isles of the Wyldness, in a simple animal, ingestion of the roots or pollen will simply result in the infected specimen migrating aimlessly until locating an area with proper acidity to lie down and die.
In the event of ingestion by a sapient creature, however, the mind fights back. In this state, they are willing to do whatever they're told, no matter how stark the change from what they would normally consider acceptable. However, there is one instinct that can, to various degrees, override the effects in animals both simple and sapient:
love, in any of its many forms. From pack bonds to offspring in need of the infected's care, to the desire to mate.

Kai had been cautious in his approach, knowing that she had no reason to trust him. It had been the right move; she had growled turning her flames against him the instant she noticed Kai came closer. In response he sheathed his sword and forged a tiny spark in his own palm.

Kai was already having a bad day before he was zapped to another dimension.
First, his powers were stolen by Aspheera, which she then used to attack Ninjago City (again), and the monastery is next on her "revenge" list. Things started looking up when Kai grabbed the scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu and his powers returned--but then he got blasted to a world that's similar to his own, but not quite. A world with high school ninjas that desperately need a big brother to guide them. And hey, maybe they can guide Kai along the way too.
That is, if the scroll doesn't corrupt him first...

- Everybody is grieving the loss of Nya to the sea. Kai and Cole find comfort in each other. After all, Cole knows exactly how painful it is to lose a family member.This story is slightly inspired by a portion in the 2 hour long lava video™ , when op noticed Kai and Cole came out of the same room before Nya’s memorial probably having comforted each other like Jay and Maya have, except I cranked up the angst by a tenfold. Then I had a revelation.

Kai leaned back, pressing his head deeper into the arm of the couch, hoping it could take all his headache away but of course that stupid couch could not. The moonlight seeped through the curtains, casting a ghostly hue on everything. The TV was in front of him, a blur of colours displayed on its screen and lively chatter fading into a buzz by the time it reached Kai’s ears.
He brought his arm to his mouth as he coughed, a tremor rippling throughout his body. Everything hurt. It felt like a million knives were stuck in his throat, a million gunshots to his head, a million reasons keeping him awake even when his body longed for deep slumber.
Kai is sick and in the living room in the middle of the night. Cole finds him and drags him back to bed

Kai expects him to make friends with him to ask for a ride to the underworld so that they can get the Golden Weapons back and stop Garmadon from taking over Ninjago and spreading destruction and chaos and pain and-
He doesn’t know how to housetrain a dragon.
What if he gets cranky when he’s hungry. Cole can’t calm a rampaging dragon.
Cole can’t even calm a rampaging Jay.
Though a dragon might be easier...//
Jay and Zane have a death-wish, Kai and Nya are insane, and Cole appears to be the only person on their team with any amount of common sense. But even that is corrupted by his teammates eventually; he actually befriends one of his nightmares.
