Henry squealed at the sight, immediately running over and hugging both of their legs tightly. “I’m so happy we’re a family again…”
And Ted snapped his mouth shut, a strained smile on his lips as he gently rested a hand on top of his son’s head. “Me too, bud… me too.”
He feels like he’s dying.

‘Away. New York.’ Rebecca stood up then, made her way closer to where Keeley was nervously pacing. ‘My friend, Carina, she’s got a gig in Paris for the summer, said I could use her flat downtown if I wanted.’ Rebecca stared at her. ‘We could leave this afternoon.’
‘Keeley, you’re starting to scare me.’
‘Please, let’s just go, I need to be somewhere else.’Or, Rebecca and Keeley try to solve their respective heart sicknesses with a change in scenery.

“Right then, that settles it — I’m taking you home. Collect your things.”
He looks up at her curiously. “Are you suggesting we play hooky, boss?”
“Come now, Coach Lasso,” she replies, offering her hand for him to take. “It’s not hooky if I’m in charge.”
There’s a beat silence before Beard’s practically hauling him upright by the back of his jacket, brushing his hands over his shoulders to smooth out non-existent creases, seemingly dusting off his lapels.
“Don’t fuck this up,” he hisses in his ear, and Ted only has a brief moment to offer his friend a perturbed glance before he’s letting out an indignant squawk, fighting to keep his footing as he shoves him forward on the muddy pitch.
Rebecca accepts him with open arms.
or, Ted slips and hurts his back — Rebecca knows just how to fix it.
