Summary
Jaskier waited for Geralt of to distance himself from the camp well enough, before shuffling off his sitting place atop a rather uncomfortable tree stump, positioning himself so that he was eye-level with the extremely nonplussed horse.
Not, of course, that he wanted to shoo him from his own campsite, but how the hell else would he corner the man's horse?
At Oxenfurt, Jaskier had, much to his vexation, learnt that the word ‘nonplussed’ had two meanings – the first being ‘unsure about what to say, think, or do’, and the second, ‘not bothered, surprised, or impressed by something’. It was almost a contranym, it caused him no end of frustration, and it was the perfect word to use in this scenario, because how the hell was one supposed to get a read on the complex emotional state of a horse?
Nonplussed was right, because Jaskier couldn’t read Roach for shit, so he might as well have covered all his bases, instead.
“So,” he began, and it was a good way to open a dialogue, very solid, “why are you a horse?”
Or: When Jaskier finds Geralt and Roach at Posada, it's less of a first meeting, and more of a reunion.

Summary
Eskel shows up in town in a bad way, needing a little comfort. He is directed to a 'whore who takes Witchers' at the local inn.
Roach is hanging by herself at the inn when Eskel walks in and is pointed towards her. She knows the rumours that have been circulating about her due to her traveling with Geralt and knows she should probably correct the misunderstanding but oh, the poor guy looks like he could use a win. She decides to roll with it instead.Set in the 'To Love a Poet' universe.
Sorry to anyone committed to the Geralt/Roach/Jaskier dynamic, this is just my shameless excuse to give Eskel some love.

Summary
Cursed to be a horse by her Ladies maid who has stolen both her life and her self proclaimed poet of a fiancé, Lady Charlotte feels somewhat relieved. It was an arranged marriage and she had never particularly liked the man.
Being a horse wasn’t so bad, she decided. Her mother always did say she was a stubborn mare. In a way she was just living up to her true nature.
To ensure she can't break it, the cure to the curse is the one thing both Charlotte and her maid think her incapable of doing; love a poet.
I’d rather stay a horse, she thinks, as she watches the Witcher barter with the stablemaster.
Which is probably for the best, as I’ll most likely never encounter a poet again.
