Perihelion sounded like it was trying to convince me, but I knew that it wasn’t really. If I didn’t agree to go along with what it wanted, it would just force me to. That was how things had worked for as long as I could remember. Refusal was met with punishment.

I knew that it was just because ART cared, because Three’s injury had worried it, but that didn’t make this any less stupid. The likelihood of me ending up in a situation with both my physical eyes damaged and no access to drones was nowhere near high enough to justify all of this.
Also, the lack of vision might’ve been doing horrible things to my performance reliability.
