Summary
There's a lot of expectation attached to Steve Rogers' name. It's taken him years to prove his own worth - that he's made it so far in the USNA on his own merit and not just because of his father. He's close though - there are only a few more months until he graduates and gets to stand on his own two feet. It's taken a lot of effort to get there, and a lot of sacrifices.
Bucky's beyond the point of expectation. When your father and grandfather have both been President - and your mother nurses political ambitions of her own - brilliance is a foregone conclusion. He's just counting down the final months of his confinement to the glass cage of the White House and he's determined to put that whole world behind him.
But as the days standing between them and their dreams dwindle, Steve comes to realize he might have made one sacrifice too many, and Bucky learns that his freedom comes at a cost he's never going to be able to pay.

Skywalkers are good at many things, but one thing they aren't particularly good at is love. That is to say, when it comes to romantic relationships Skywalkers always seem to mess them up, and Ben Solo -- otherwise known as Kylo Ren -- is no exception to this particular Skywalker skill.
Good thing he definitely isn't in love with Brendol Hux II, the fiery haired accounting major who turns out to be a new hire at the bookstore cafe where Kylo works. It's probably also a good thing they are always at each other's throats because it's not like Kylo is in love with the slim man. No siree. He promises he doesn't check the ginger man out on a daily basis, why would he? And he totally doesn't struggle at showing his affection; the great Kylo Ren is perfectly good at showing his affection, right?
It's definitely also a good thing they are roommates and cannot seem to escape each other's presence.

As far as Steve's plans go this one is admittedly not his best. It's sort of a last resort, if a last resort can take months of careful, painstaking planning and a disgusting amount of playing nice with the worst kind of people. Now it is just a simple matter of conducting a little harmless kidnapping and in the process hopefully averting a large-scale humanitarian disaster.
When the highest levels of international politics are settled with the trade and barter of highly exclusive Gilded, Steve plans to avert a war involve removing a very important piece of leverage - which would be less of a problem if the leverage involved didn't insist on making everything so much more complicated.
