Looking around the corner of the door into Daniel’s room, Laura feels like she has been struck by lightning as she sees Daniel sitting on his bed with Cherry on her knees at his feet. Her eyes widen trying to take in the vision before her. She means to open her mouth to tell them off, to make them jump apart. But after she opens her mouth, no words come out. They stick to her teeth. Her mouth becomes suspiciously dry.
Her eyes move past his body effortlessly, zero-ing in on the long locks of auburn hair as her head bobs between his legs. Some strands of her hair curl and spring around lively. She imagines running her hands through that hair. Her fingers tangling themselves in that gorgeous hair to grip it at the root and push her head down to make her swallow more of her strap.

Had Aurvandill seen this, he would have worried about the manhood rite of passage having had no immediate effect on the childlike nature of his son, but he didn't see it.
