And then, to Mike’s absolute mortification, his younger-self flushes, cheeks growing impossibly red and eyes darting to the floor. Not in an obvious manner either, because Will immediately levels Mike with a questioning stare and a teasing smile which makes him want to crawl into a hole and die.

Summary
The year is 2170 humanity has returned to Pandora with the goal of colonizing the planet. In order to do so they must find ways to pacify the wildlife and subvert the immune response of the planet.
Mike Wheeler is one of three people chosen to drive avatar bodies in hopes of advancing the research on humanity's problem. As he explores the world of Pandora she breaths a life into him that he hadn't realized he lost. A kind Na'vi helps him to learn about and explore his new home and he soon finds himself stuck in the middle of a conflict he hadn't asked for. Torn between the world he knew and the one that saved him he must pick a side. All while struggling with feelings he shouldn't have.
Tldr: Set in the Avatar universe, Mike is a avatar driver and Will is a Na'vi that find there fast developing relationship tested by war and loss.

Immediately upon recognising Will, Mike drops to one knee with a tremendous force and bows his head down, low. After a few seconds he lifts his head slowly, eyes looking directly into Will’s.

He’s worked hard to move on, to bury the feelings he’s carried since they were kids, to convince himself that loving Mike was something he could leave behind. But with Mike about to step back into his life, Will realizes just how fragile that progress might be, and how seeing him again could unravel everything he’s fought to become.
