I noticed the Boiling Isles were kind of an LGBTQ+ focused heaven, with not much attention paid to it's problems unless they came from Emperor Belos's very human rule. But not much thought is paid to the repercussions and consequences of the Boiling Isles' magic system, or it's own problems. I aim to rectify that by placing a more mature Luz in a less fortunate scenario.
It's well established that the Boiling Isles is very accepting of LGBTQ+ people, and I'm not going to be one of those people that just imports human realm problems and puts them on the earth. The boiling isles has some similar problems, but it has unique ones stemming from it's world and setting.

Summary
Belos is dead. The Collector is defeated. The portal door is working again and everyone now just has to move on with their lives and rebuild normality as best they can. This is easier for some than for others.
When Willow invites Hunter to Grom, he assumes it is so that he, as a non-student of Hexside, can still be there to help Skara in her duties as Grom Queen. Emerald Entrails stick together, after all. Clearly there could be no other reason for Willow to invite him. This is all set to be a simple, friendly combined dance and fight with a demonic entity that reads minds and conjures your worst fears into reality. No biggie.
Except with Boscha and her crew of bullies around and feeling braver than ever, this Grom might not be as simple as they all hoped. Especially when Hunter discovers that being the reincarnated container of hundreds of years of Golden Guards' fears is a bad thing to be around a fear demon.

What came to mind first was that he’s the Golden Guard but there was no way she was going to say that so casually. Summary
Hunter finds himself in the impossible situation of waking up in the past, and being himself, unhesitatingly throws himself under the bus in order to help the people who, in his mind, he owes so much more than just his life to.
All Luz sees is a desperate, hurt child soldier who was ready and willing to throw himself into the boiling sea if she so much as hints that it would make her, King, or Eda happy. This sufficiently worries her.
Eda just desperately wants to know who this kid who showed up out of nowhere and cursed himself for her is. Lilith's kid? Belos'? Raine's? Who the heck would have a kid who latches onto the Owl Lady!?
Everyone else is wondering just what the heck Eda did to inspire such vicious loyalty from the former Golden Guard who, at this point, they're almost certain is her son. Lilith most especially.
