Summary
As they broke into the ship, sliding quietly along a shockingly understaffed storage deck, no one thought to grab Lance. To touch base, maybe mention that the priority was the prisoners of higher standing with bigger pockets, which required a level of secrecy and nonchalance. And this requirement would need him to contain his emotions throughout the mission, even if his teammates were to fall or get injured. Even if he found Keith and wasn’t pleased with his treatment. He would need to remain calm. The monarchs were the priority.
This lack of forethought led to what is considered one of the worst intergalactic shipwrecks of all time. After all, Keith Kogane was always Lance’s first priority.

After Keith is abducted, Lance fights to get on a Blades mission to break into a Galran ship imprisoning hundreds. He keeps his own mission to himself. Step 1: follow orders until he can’t. Step 2: find Keith in the prison and break him out. Step 3: kill anything that slows him down.

“Wait, wait,” Lance stood up. “You are driving to Houston.”
“Yes.”
“A drive that’s over thirty hours.”
“Yup.”
“By yourself.”
“Sure seems like it.”
“To clean out a storage container of your dead mother, that you have never met, that is now legally under your name.”
“Correct.”
Lance wondered if Keith had lost his mind.
“Keith, there could be dead bodies in that storage container!” He argued. “Or a meth lab. Or worse, mannequins dressed up like dolls sat at a tea party or some weird shit like that.”
Keith offered him an unimpressed blink. “I’ll be fine.”
“Keith, this is insane. You can’t go by yourself!”
Keith glanced at him as he shouldered his backpack.
“Come with me then.”
And that small, damned smirk tilted Keith’s lips as he held Lance’s gaze.
“What do you think, Lance?” He asked. “2,251 miles. Think you could handle it?”
Lance stopped short.
Contemplated.
And, well. Lance had nothing to do either.
So. That’s how this all started.Two disasters drive cross-country to clean out a storage container that may have dead bodies hidden inside and, hey, maybe a bit of love as well.

What really draws Keith’s attention to the man is the phone, because that has to be the brightest (and ugliest) neon blue Otterbox he’s ever seen in his life.
There is no denying, however, that the man that’s holding the phone in the ugly blue Otterbox is gorgeous.
He’s tall and has lovely caramel skin. His hair is chestnut brown.As he gets closer, Keith can see that his eyes are blue. His voice becomes a bit clearer and his lips curve into a small, shy smile for a brief few seconds, and—
Keith wants to see that smile play at the corners of the man’s lips again.
Okay, no, Kogane, he snaps at himself, You’re not going to thirst over some hot stranger in the café and in front of your nephew. Cut it out.

Lance tipped his head back and looked up at the tall ceiling of the ballroom. It was something he couldn’t help but do now that he was an experienced sniper. He followed the line of two pillars up and up, past the balcony and into the rafters. There—that was the best spot. You’d be able to see everything from there: the ballroom floor, the balcony, even the entryway all the way to the main doors.
He wasn’t expecting to see something shift though, and he watched in horror as a masked and cloaked figure appeared, lining up a rifle and pointing down into the crowd of people on the ballroom floor.
Or: A diplomatic gala takes an unexpected turn when Lance intercepts an assassination attempt on one of their allies. Leaving Lance injured and the others scrambling for answers, they enter a race against the clock to find who is responsible. They don’t know who did it, no one’s coming forward, and Lance is running out of time.

“What is wrong with your dog?!” Lance shouts, his furious blue eyes narrowed as soapsuds slide down his face. Keith tries his hardest to keep his gaze stuck on Lance’s face, to prevent it from slipping down the glistening, bare skin of his chest that melts into his abs.
“He’s a wolf, not a dog,” he replies. Beside him, Kosmo howls as though he’s agreeing with Keith. Lance shoots a glare at Kosmo and he shuts up promptly. Then his glare turns on Keith and he regrets ever opening his mouth.
“Your cosmic pet drops you into the middle of my shower and that’s what you’re arguing about? The semantics of his species?” he snaps, throwing up an arm in frustration and sending suds flying. One lands on Keith’s hair. “Get out!”
He shrugs, his gaze snagging on Lance’s broad shoulders. “It’s not anything I haven’t seen before.”
“Keith, get out!” he shrieks, grabbing a bottle of shampoo and hurling it at him. Keith manages to duck in time before it slams against the wall where he was standing seconds before.
Five times Kosmo spontaneously teleports Keith to Lance’s side, and the one time Lance returns the favor.

Something is going on with Lance, something that he's missing that's right within his grasp. The answer is in one of his missing memories from his time as a clone, he knows it is, he just doesn't know how to get it back. In the meantime he's left to wonder why the hell Lance would be the only one on the team other than him to be considered 'predisposed' to a zombie disease.

Keith opened his mouth to reply, but wasn’t even given a fighting chance.Lance feels like an idiot. He knows it's time for a change; time to work harder and stop acting like a child. He's a paladin of Voltron. He's supposed to protect people! He doesn't care what happens to him - no one else gets hurt. Never again.
Fic based just after the end of season 5 in which Lance is forced to confront his mistakes and it leads him down a very dark path. Unwilling to accept how dangerous his actions are becoming, it's left up to his team-mates and a certain Blade of Marmora member to find the root of his problems and try to bring him back from the edge.We worked so hard on this. “You are not dying,” Lance’s voice was rough and frantic, trying to convince Keith as much as he wanted to convince himself. Keith’s eyes fluttered open, and he met Lance’s red-rimmed ones. There was such certainty and desperation fixated into them, that Keith was unable to contradict him.
“I’m not dying,” Keith decided to say, repeating Lance’s words. And even if it felt like he was lying to himself, something about the trust in Lance’s eyes made him want to believe that maybe, just maybe, this wasn’t a lie.
