Arthur slowly blinked his eyes open. His head ached and as he pushed himself up, he struggled to focus on his surroundings. He had some vague memories of being accosted. There had been a small scuffle between himself and a bandit, and the other men… He frowned. The other men had been sorcerers and Merlin—the idiot—had drawn their attention to him. The last thing Arthur could remember is diving to knock Merlin away from getting hit by one of their spells. After that it was all a blank.
Or, beware, when you get accosted by bandits and sorcerers. You might get more than you bargained for.

Summary
Merlin gathered his cloak closer, face well-hidden beneath his hood, stealing his way through the unsavoury parts of the lower town. It would not do for the king's manservant to be spotted here. Especially not emerging from this tavern that offered… specialised services.
The soft wool of the hood rubbed against his face and Merlin pressed into it, inhaling deeply. It smelled just like Arthur. It felt like he could never escape from him. Even if Arthur never felt the same way, Merlin would always crave his king.

Arthur gave one of his ‘why-do-I-put-up-with-you’ sighs and said, “Kindly stop fondling that goblet and try actually performing your duties for once! You might find you actually enjoy doing so.”
Ah. So he was holding a goblet. Placing it back on the table and faking a cough in an attempt to ignore the vaguely phallic-shaped object and just what he had been unconsciously doing to it, Merlin retorted, “I would love to help you out, Sire, if only I knew what exactly it was you were doing.”
