Hozier was beautiful, the beer was decent, and the crowd was amazing.
The only problem was that Bucky kept making accidental eye contact with the tattooed hottie one seat over. Every time he swayed, he accidentally let his eyes wander too far, and somehow the blonde was always facing his direction, too. So, they’ve been making weird eye contact and Bucky’s glanced away grimacing and blushing every time for about twenty minutes.-

Sam mercilessly chortles at his red face and immediate freckles, and at the wide-brimmed sunhat he pulls out of his backpack as soon as they get inside.
“Where’s your Polaroid camera and bullet journal, Bethany,” Sam croons between fits of laughter. “Did you leave it in Tuscaloosa when you went on a holiday?”

“This is practice,” Steve interrupts like a dumbass, “there is no winning.”
Bucky’s lopsided smirk pulls at the corner of his mouth. “Yeah,” he concedes, still in that slow molasses drawl, “but you guys all keep track of your time, right? I’ve watched you all compare notes after practice.”
Steve laughs. They’re a team of competitive little shits, they absolutely do that. “Yeah, okay, fair enough,” he relents.
“So,” Bucky continues slowly, his blush deepening, “you get the best time today...,” he takes a breath, drops his voice even lower, and soughs, “I’ll let you take off my clothes. All of ‘em.”
Shit.
Steve suddenly realizes what a fucking moron he is for having initiated this line of flirtation here at the pool and right before practice.

“I don’t…Buck!” Steve’s flustered. Of course he’s thought about it, of course. Bucky’s gorgeous, dark hair and pretty eyes, his body long and lithe from years of dance. Steve’s not blind: of course he’s noticed Bucky.
