Zanka blinked. He looked down at his hands. Then back at Rudo. Then to his hands again, and blinked once more. “My chopsticks?” He waved them a little to make it clear. Then, suddenly remembering the dumpling he was holding, popped it in his mouth.
“Yeah. Those. Why are you using them?”
“Why am I- “ Zanka started. He then remembered he was raised with a modicum of manners and swallowed before continuing. “What does it look like I'm using them for?”

Zanka eyes Enjin warily, then shakes his head. “Wha’s hap’nin’?”.
“You apparently had a pretty nasty situation going on in your mouth there”. Enjin waves his hands around as he explained. “Had to take out some troublesome teeth before it got any worse. Wisdom teeth I think they’re called. It’s rare but it happens. Eisha handled a lot of it, you can ask her later”.
But Zanka had stopped listening midway through his team leader sentence. His teeth? They’d taken his teeth. He narrowed his eyes in concentration as he moved his tongue to swipe over his pearly whites but found he couldn’t feel anything.
Oh god they’d stolen his teeth.

The younger Cleaner squeezed his eyes shut and buried his face in the sheets.
“Oh you poor thing.” Tamsy stood up and tied his belt. “That’s okay. I promised you, didn’t I? You won’t remember any of this.”
