He’s a good enough actor, the Hollow has to admit.
“Wrong answer,” he spits, rushing forward once more. “Try again, asshole.”
Or, Urahara's attempt at leveraging time-travel against Aizen accidentally shows Zangetsu a glimpse of his future.

It steals the air from Ichigo’s lungs. His breath hitches sharply, heart pounding fiercely.
And the sound that tears out of him is something he doesn’t recognise. It’s raw, high, broken—his whole body collapsing into Dad as he sobs, hard and uncontrollable. He screams until his throat burns, cries until his chest aches, until he can’t tell where one breath ends and the next begins.
Dad rocks him slowly, one hand buried in Ichigo’s hair, fingers combing through it again and again, over and over. He murmurs soft, broken things into the crown of his head—nonsense words, apologies, reassurances—anything to fill the space where his mom should have been.
And all Ichigo can do is clutch at Dad, fists fisting in his shirt so tight like he might disappear too if he lets go.

Ichigo discovers himself to be an Omega, so Central Forty-Six leaps at the idea to bond Alpha and Omega together to prevent Aizen from destroying Soul Society, as he cannot pursue godhood if he is tied mentally, physically, and emotionally to Ichigo Kurosaki.
Oddly, Aizen seems to want this. Ichigo is less convinced, leading to them debating the merits of the solution.

In this new dimension, it's like the apocalypse Cloud remembers was half-averted. Mako's still around, ShinRa's in business, and Tifa supposedly died years ago under Cloud's JENOVA-fueled rampage. The other problem? Everyone's alive, looking for answers, and this dimension is a little more different than it seems.
It's hard, taking out reactors while being hunted across the continent by the people who are apparently your soulmates. It's hard, and no one understands.

When Gaea had said she was sending him to an alternate universe— done to rid his own world of Sephiroth’s anchor to him and root out the infection of JENOVA in this branch of the Lifestream as well— this was definitely not what he had anticipated.
He couldn’t say for sure exactly what he had expected— his adult mind being thrown back into this younger body, or maybe his whole self being flung backwards in time and space, with or without his resources— but this wasn’t it.
That being said, perhaps he should have. His life had been seemingly nothing but a series of cosmic jokes up to this point, why would that change now?
