Unfortunately, Merlin finds an ancient spellbook hidden beneath Gaius’s shelves, Mordred decides Merlin clearly cannot be trusted unsupervised, and Gwaine accidentally releases enchanted chickens into the lower town.
By sunset, Arthur has been bitten twice, three market stalls are on fire, and half the kingdom believes Merlin and Mordred are secretly courting.
The worst part is that Merlin keeps insisting they are absolutely not together.
The even worse part is that Mordred keeps smiling every time he says it.

Summary
Tony Stark survived the Gauntlet.
He's rebuilding — the compound, the suits, the part of himself that got dusted with half the universe. He has his bots, he has FRIDAY, he has Rhodey, he has his kids. He has a life that is, by most measurable standards, fine.
What he does not have, & did not ask for, and does not know what to do with, is three Alphas.
Specifically: one reformed assassin who expresses affection through home-cooked food & the expression of a man standing in the rain; one Sorcerer Supreme who expresses affection through territorial posturing & accidentally useful magic; & one Asgardian god of mischief who expresses it through grand gestures, worse poetry, & an apparent inability to grasp personal space.
Tony is an Omega who has spent 30 years convincing the world — & himself — that he isn't. He is very busy. He has a company. He has two pseudo-sons suspicious of everyone's intentions. He has a robot stealing his protein bars.
He is not, he would like the record to reflect, in any way equipped for this.

Strange didn’t even want to be married to him, but the implication that he was anything less than a perfectly desirable partner and suddenly he was offended. “I’m a fantastic catch. If anyone was going to be the weak link in this marriage it wouldn’t be me.”
Now Tony was the one offended; him, the weak link? How dare. “Excuse you. I’d be a devoted partner. Devoted. You wouldn’t know what hit you. You’d feel absolutely cherished.” Yes, Tony had a lot of faults, but lack of dedication to a partner, when he actually had a partner—which, admittedly, had been rare—was not one of them.
“Oh good,” Wong said, hanging up the phone and handing it back to Tony. “You two can be a wonderful, devoted couple for the next year.” He clapped his hands together with a sense of dooming finality. “Congratulations on the marriage.”

“No.” Tony shook his head, heart beating wild and rapid, the monitors he was hooked up to a cacophony of sound. “You might have missed it, Strange, but last time I tried to prepare the world for what was coming, half the universe died. Why me?” Why not someone else, why not Steve fucking Rogers, the man with the plan, why not Rhodey, why not Pepper, why him?
“Because you’re a scientist. A futurist. We chose you, Stark. But you have to accept.”
Tony didn’t want to.
“You’re going to regret it,” Tony said quietly. The beeping of the monitors had slowed, the panic had faded away leaving only a quiet exhaustion.
“I don’t think so.” And Strange sounded so sure.
Tony closed his eyes. He wanted to say no, wanted to let go of the weight of the world that had already crushed him. But he couldn’t do that. Couldn’t do that when Strange had used his last chance to save the world, banking on him. “Alright.” He swallowed hard, forcing himself to nod. “Okay. Send me back.”

The thing about Tony is he’s built himself up from dirt and gravel. He’s been shoved to the ground, scrapped rocks across his face, burned in the hot sand, suffocated in the void of space, and now frozen in the wilds of Siberia, betrayed. Tony’s been through hell. But that’s the thing about Starks, they never stop getting up. Tony falls and he falls hard and then, he picks himself back up again and again because he can’t do anything else. He rises from the ashes and he learns from the burns.
The Accords are no different.Steve sends him a half assed letter and tells him to buck up and come calling, come crawling back. Tony, with the patience of a man who had already stopped breaking who was broken but mending, calmly reads through the letter.
And, after he’s done, he burns it. Along with the phone.
