Buck's sprawled across their bed when Eddie comes out of the bathroom with a towel slung low on his hips, still damp from the shower. There's something about the way Buck's lying there—one knee bent, the other leg stretched out, wearing nothing but one of his old LAFD shirts that's ridden up to expose everything—that makes Eddie stop in his tracks.
"You're staring," Buck says, clearly amused.
"Yeah." Eddie doesn't even pretend otherwise.

Eddie’s frown doesn’t abate, but he does ease off on the glare. “My pants are off,” he answers.
Buck huffs. “You’re impossible.”
“You made me take them off,” Eddie reminds him.
Despite this being a situation Buck never thought he would get into with his best friend, he finds it easy to slip into their bickering, like a perfectly fitted suit jacket, snug in all the right places. “I didn’t make you. You’re making me do this.”
The frown twitches. Eddie’s stubborn as a fucking mule, but Buck can read him like no other, and he’s growing more confident that Eddie isn’t going to knock him out so he’ll be easier to kidnap and take to the hospital. A little more confident, at least.
or: buck needs medical assistance. somehow it gets weird, despite them both being very normal about each other.

So now, here he was, watching from the roof of a building as the omega below leaned into the taller, bigger man’s side, a dopey smile on his face.
Slade gagged at the sight, and forced himself to move on.
It seemed Dick’s plan had worked. Flash took him as an omega. Slade tried to ignore the fact that he’d seen a red, healing mark on his throat. He knew Dick wasn’t his. But his alpha hated it.

Buck turns in a circle slowly while still making his way towards the stairs. The sight was amazing. The only other time he could remember feeling like this was the first time he stepped foot onto the Foxes Court.
He stops at the base of the stairs and takes them slowly. When he reaches the top the smell of spaghetti, and the sound of his new team chattering amongst themselves hit his senses. It’s oddly reminiscent of the mandatory team dinners Dan implemented his first year at Palmetto and that Neil kept going after she graduated. He kept them going the year he was captain after Neil graduated too. He hopes Robin is still doing them.
He approaches the table slowly. An Asian man is the first to spot him, his jaw drops, probably having recognized him. Buck had never really gotten used to the public aspect of being a Fox. Even now that he’s graduated people still recognize him all the time.
Most of his classmates at the academy had recognized him pretty quickly. Most of them also wondered what he was doing there instead of in the National Exy League.
“Hi, I’m Evan Buckley, I was told to report to Captain Nash.” He introduces himself.

Buck twists his neck to look up at Eddie from where he's putting the sock back on, expression incredulous. "It's your couch," he justifies, once all ten toes are back in captivity. "You—brought it into this world."
"Mm-mm," Eddie hums, lips pursed, head shaking. "I want a paternity test. That couch looks nothing like me."
"You sure? You're both kinda, y'know, square. Wide—hey!" Buck yelps, because Eddie has picked up a throw pillow and is using it as a weapon against the side of Buck's head with one hand. (The other is occupied stiff-arming his beer to keep it from spilling on his... second-born, apparently.) "You didn't let me finish! You're—inviting," Buck laughs, winded, "and—and soft, and comfortable—"

Like his gaze is pulled by Buck’s words alone, Eddie lifts his head. Their eyes meet. Buck’s are so pretty—mile-long flaxen lashes framing the nicest blue Eddie has ever seen.
“Yeah,” Buck breathes out, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Like that.”
