Summary
It's always in hindsight that we notice the smallest choices are the ones that change our lives the most. For Dwight Fairfield he doesn't expect his life to change, there was no exciting future ahead of him, and nothing of note in his past. He was rooted to a menial existence as a manager at a small town pizza place.
The smallest things change our lives, and that of others. Like deciding if 100$ was worth making a pizza delivery to a house well outside of delivery range.

Summary
Dirk Strider goes out into the world with two goals: find something, and lose himself in the process. It works well enough until a handsome boy with bottle green eyes follows the trail of missed connections and ticket stubs right to his heart and decides to help himself to everything Dirk was determined to throw away.
(Fae Jake/listless semi-sex addict Dirk, and a lot of self-indulgence.)

Summary
Jesse came to a full stop. This wasn't a whale or some unfortunate dolphin. The top half of the creature exposed itself as a man.
“Shit.”
Jesse felt his hand go to the revolver at his side, brushing the handle and approached the seemingly unconscious creature. Mers were not something he had experience with. They were a menace to sailors. Jesse had never seen one - much less one washed up on a lonely stretch of beach looking like it had been run through a shredder.

Summary
Overwatch had been dead for about 7 years, and Jesse McCree had been Joel Morricone full time for 5 of those. 8 since the last time he saw Genji, 9 since the last time he’d been to Japan. Surely longer then all of those since he’d seen a picture of Hanzo Shimada in a briefing packet.
He's run into a man who looks an awful lot like him, though.

Summary
Jake English is a minor celebrity of the sublight net who often goes on intragalactic adventures to amazing locales to share his excursions with his lovely followers. It can be very good press for new interstellar tourist traps, so he's used to being hired to check out new vacation spots.
When his old friend Jane hires him, Jake winds up on Alcyone to promote the new resort CrockerCorp has opened there. There's but one small, remarkable detail about the planet: it's covered entirely in breathable liquid.
It would make a perfect tourist trap. Shame it's already inhabited.
(A very weird AU, in which humans try to settle a big waterworld to build a tourist hotspot, and the native mers enact castle doctrine.)

Summary
Deep in Derse's shadowy core languishes the stolen second-in-line to the Prospitian throne. He plays the part of reluctant Ambassador, though rather than politics he finds himself juggling the heavy heart of Derse's Prince, which he regrets ever asking for, and charting out his new life far from the Sunburst Court.
Jake is grimly sure he'll never be warm again.

Or, hope is a thing that all men should have in their hearts. But not too much. Because then, well. Then you get ghosts.
(In which Dirk and Jake dance indelicately around an embarrassing matter for far too many words, hurt each other's feelings, hurt a ghost's feelings, and just generally make a fine mess out of everything.)
