He was no one’s choice of nurse, Garak reflected, even if Bashir seemed to tolerate him more than anyone else on the station did. Garak had been trained to inflict pain, not to ease it; to terrify, not to comfort. Bashir had shown Garak more tenderness and care than anyone had in many, many years, and the idea of trying to play that same role for the good doctor now was, frankly, a little intimidating.
Not trying at all, however, simply was not an option.

David Rose falls off his cute huge yacht, loses his memory, and washes up in Schitt’s Creek, where he learns how to love.
This is loosely based on the movie Overboard, but if you read All the Songs I Sing Are About You, you already know I have a tendency to stray pretty far from the source material. The story is barely recognizable beyond the basic premise.
Schitt’s Creek is a small town on the water in this story, and NOTHING about the experience or treatment of amnesia in this is remotely accurate. It’s all made up, folks. Suspend your disbelief before entering.
The title comes from an episode of Schitt’s Creek. Bragging rights to the first person who figures out what episode and scene it came from.

Summary
Barry was kidnapped and experimented on by General Eiling's successor. With the help of the Arrow, his friends and family rescued him, but he had a long recovery, and it's not over yet. Left with a debilitating medical phobia, he slowly regained a sense of normalcy, and ended up creating a tentative friendship with one Leonard Snart along the way. Several months later, Len and Barry are together and Barry is doing much better, but problems continue to pop up, some expected, some not.
Or, there's a little (not so little) problem Barry didn't tell anyone about, Len's afraid of the dentist, they're both idiots, and Barry continues to work on recovery. Oh, and they love each other :)
Also, this is now Earth 14. Officially. (if someone else already claimed earth 14 please let me know I'll change it thanks)

Barry Allen has been held hostage in a room for longer than he knows. Hungry and injured he starts to hear things he knows can't be, namely the voice of a man he knows is dead. It's not often but every now and then he can hear that familiar drawl and feels hope spark in his chest.
Leonard had been drifting in a world separate from the one he once inhabited. Surrounded by a vortex of blue and red lightning, trapped alongside his family and home without being able to make contact with anyone he drifts. He begins to lose hope when he finds himself with Barry, the only person who seems to be able to respond to him.
Too bad Barry can't see anymore.

A large scar was visible on Barry's inner forearm. It wasn't just a normal scar though. It was a brand. The numbers 0227 had been permanently burnt into his skin. Joe felt himself be consumed with white hot rage when he looked at it.
They had branded his son like he was some kind of animal.

What follows is over a year of pain and humiliation as they are abused as human guinea pigs before they are finally able to flee.
They quickly realize that some things have changed drastically during their time in captivity, and that the world outside their former prison has become an even more dangerous place for them.
