It´s said with deliberation. Like it´s something Jack knows with absolute conviction to be true. There´s no doubt in his mind that Dennis won´t leave.
"What?" Dennis balks. He stares into Jack´s eyes, hoping to see that glint of humour the man gets when he´s joking.
It´s not there.

“Did your old man do that?” The question startled Dennis, cutting through the loud chatter of the crowded bar.
It took a moment for him to realize who was speaking, blinking through his swollen black eye as he tried to make out the man who stood next to him. He looked as old as all the rest of them with a cigarette dangling from his lips.
“He’s not my dad.” Dennis sniped, staring sullenly at the table in front of him.
“Your boyfriend?” The man's kind brown eyes never left him as he took a sip of beer, watching him carefully from over top of the glass.
Runaway Dennis falls into a bad situation and Robby moves heaven and earth to save him.

Of course, he's aware his friends have some sort of fling going on, but he's just trying to be supportive. The duo soon learn of Robby's love of movies and filmmaking, and Robby learns that his inexperience is anything but a turnoff for the couple. Together, they decide it's only right to combine the two details, and film Robby's first time.
Or, Dana films Jack taking Robby's virginity. For her viewing pleasure, of course.
