Summary
On the day before moving into university halls (leaving it a bit late), the Fellowship, plus some others, are added to a group chat to get to know the people they will be living with for the next year. What could possibly go wrong with all these characters living under the same roof?
Expect lots of teasing and (mostly friendly) tormenting, a concerning number of things getting broken, and way less sleep than is at all healthy.
In case it isn't already abundantly obvious, I did not create these characters, nor do I own them. I'm also definitely not the first to write in this AU either; this was inspired by a lot of brilliant and funny works which I loved reading.

Grantaire is not-quite-happily slacking his way through college, living off of his wealthy parents and ignoring the impending doom that will be graduation and getting cut off. His friends accept his facade of joviality at face value, not quite seeing the signs of depression and alcoholism.
Then the Musain hires a beautiful new barista with a whiff of tragedy clinging to him, and Grantaire's comforting familiar existence is entirely disrupted. Also, he can't seem to convince the barista that he's not sexually harassing him.

I feel like a lot of stories go to enormous lengths to portray Kirk and McCoy in a greatly positive light. However, this fic gives exactly the impression I had when watching Star Trek with my family: Spock is the one on that ship who uses logic and has basic human decency, the others are all very stuck in the 60s. If you look for something that reads like TOS, this is it.
