“Who the hell are you?” Megumi growled from a distance, over the roar of the engines and the chatter of the crowd.
Immediately, the buzz died down. All eyes turned to the newcomer, the crowd holding its breath as silence descended like a heavy curtain over the garage. Only the beating of hearts and the faint hiss of still-warm tires broke that unreal moment.
Yuuji inhaled. He suspected this guy had a huge ego, but yelling at him like that was something he would never let slide. He raised his gaze, meeting Megumi’s fury-filled eyes. With a half-smirk, a hint of defiance in his voice, he replied, “My name’s Yuuji Itadori, and I’m the one who’s going to take your throne.”

Summary
Megumi's divine dogs have a weird habit of disobeying him, whenever it comes to being affectionate with Yuuji. They always listen to his other commands, sure, but when it comes to being cute and fluffy in Yuuji's presence, the only thing Megumi can do is sit back and watch his own dogs become little shits.
And it would be fine, really. He has other shikigami, after all. But when even Nue starts going out of its way to try and please Yuuji, well, Megumi thinks he's a little fucked.

Yuuji blinks. Reality starts to pour back in, the darkness of the memory replaced by the darkness of the sky and the slate-grey of the ground. There’s a terrible ache inside his chest. His eyes burn hot, and his cheeks are wet. He didn’t realize he’d started to cry.
“It’s okay, I’m—I’m fine. Really,” Yuuji rasps out, before he’s seized by another sickening wave.

The man in front of him had bubblegum pink hair that glowed sort of orange in the sunlight. His face was a mix of sharp and round features, and he seemed wholly kind. The man's eyebrows were knit in concern and Megumi's focus shifted to the man’s toned arms, one on his head inspecting the wound.
"Uh," Megumi sputtered intelligently, brain still a little broken; half because of the throbbing of his head and half because of the gorgeous man before him. Did he die? Was he in heaven, or was this a dream?

“I can’t believe the vet is dating someone like him” one of them whispered just as Yuji passed close by them heading toward the door. Yuji could literally feel half of his body going numb. “You’d expect him to be dating someone decent, not a criminal."
And the thing is, Yuji wasn’t a criminal, not at all. Quite the opposite, actually. He was a firefighter who had survived a serious fire with only some injuries as a result. But surely not everyone thought like that lady… right?
Or: Due to his work as a firefighter, Yuji returns home with two new scars on his face, but with no pain at all. Life, however, takes care of fixing that last part.
