Gordon had always worried about Ramona.
Not in the ordinary way that a grandfather worries for his grandchild, or a father worries about his daughter. Although he did worry about scraped knees and how many vegetables she was eating too. The thing that worried him most, was how good she was at being alone.It was easier in the summer not to think about any of it. In the summer there was Sterling Point, and there was Ellis, and for two months a year Gordon watched something in Ramona relax that never quite relaxed the rest of the time.
