Summary

Then, Aizawa Shouta, an underground pro hero, enrolls his adoptive son, four year-old Shinsou Hitoshi, a boy who's been kicked out of every other daycare and school he's been put in since the development of his brainwashing quirk. Hizashi is more than happy to have him in his school, especially since Hizashi was born with a 'dangerous' quirk himself, and he quickly finds out that he has a soft spot for this kid and a serious liking towards his father that he has to learn to deal with.

Putting on a dramatic pout, Hizashi clutched his chest, "What are you talking about, herolet, me and Shouta are the closest of friends!"
"Yeah, but how? You're bright and cheery and happy and he's…" Hitoshi trailed off, looking to an asleep Shouta with a wrinkle of his nose. "Not."
"You're right! I wasn't always the bright and cheerful Present Mic you see before you, though! I used to be a pretty depressing kid - even more than you two."
"I have a hard time imaging that, Yamada-san," Hitoshi replied. "You seemed plenty cheery when you met in the Hero course if Sensei's stories are true."
"I knew he told stories on me." Hizashi's dramatics earned a huff of a breath that was Hitoshi's equivalent of a bright laugh. "Yeah, I was a pretty happy kid when we were both in high school, but… that's not how we met- That's not where we met."

“Daddy, I found the milk!”
The words were accompanied by a tug on his sleeve, and Hizashi startled so badly he dropped the tub of ice cream he was holding.
He managed to awkwardly catch it between his hip and the freezer door before it hit the ground, and let out a sigh of relief. Then he remembered his priorities, and glanced over to the right, where a young boy with bright green eyes and hair was nervously shuffling his feet, holding out a carton of milk with the hand not attached to Hizashi’s sleeve. He was tiny. Only four years old, perhaps? Five?
Hizashi looked in confusion from the hand on his sleeve to the milk and back to the boy’s face. “Hey kid, I think you’ve got the wrong—”
“No, Daddy, we always have this milk!” the boy said quickly, rushing the words before Hizashi could finish. This time, however, his eyes darted nervously over his shoulder, and Hizashi paused. That wasn’t just nervousness in the boy’s eyes – it was fear.
Or: Hizashi saves tiny Izuku in a grocery store, and then proceeds to save him forever.

This idea was inspired by a post by crsinclair on tumblr! I wrote it after work the past few days and I haven't taken the time to beta it like usual, I just want to get it out there! I hope you enjoy!
Hizashi isn't normally one to keep a secret. Of course, if someone asks him to keep quiet, he'll respect that, but when it comes to himself, oversharing is the name of the game. Friends, classmates, strangers- he'll talk to them all, about almost anything. But there's one thing he hasn't been able to talk about, and he's not quite sure why. Not even to his parents, and he knows he could tell them anything and they would still love and support him. It's nothing bad. At least, not in his opinion. But it is a little scary when he thinks about it.
His secret?
Aizawa Shouta's quirk could kill him.
