Summary
Ino has been Neji's friend from pre-school to now, even taking the same classes as Neji in dual enrollment. However, when the long-time pair meets a lazy-eyed, boyish girl in their semester one astronomy class, Ino begins her typical protective, defensive, and almost possessive mechanisms to keep Neji away from seemingly imaginary trouble. Luckily for Neji, the tall stranger is easy-going and not easily offended by Ino's attempts at keeping Neji to herself. Only, Neji is far from understanding herself, let alone those around her. Between the unfamiliar feelings that Shika, her new classmate, and the newly developing tension between her and her childhood friend, the year's challenges would be unprecedented.

Summary

He slowed his hips to reach between them and be felt bits of hard pieces until there was no skin left. Scales!
“Mh!” He mumbled.
The sheer, white fins of a large white tail hit the bottom front of the desk over and over to the pulses Shikamaru sent through the medium of his hips.
Then, he felt something shoot into his mouth. It was no longer a cold tongue, it had cups, it was slippery. He distanced himself a bit and found a dark blue tentacle connecting their throats and finally he jumped back with a hoarse shout. The thick, white tail lifted to shower the captain in see-through tail fins. She still eyed him, infatuated with everything the captain had demonstrated thus far.

Shikamaru silently swallowed, keeping his eyes shut as his hand reluctantly traced along the bottom of her abdomen until he felt a fabric, but an object protruding stopped his fingers midway. Slowly, his eyes opened until they widened with shock at the toy that Temari had strapped to her pelvis, more so at how his wife smiled at him.
Temari’s smile grew sinisterly as she took the man’s hand and wrapped both their fingers around the silicon after taking a feral bite of the man’s goatee. “Take your clothes off," she ordered.

For as long as Shikamaru could remember, he cared nothing at all for Neji Hyuga. There was no reason in particular apart from the boy being an uptight prick with his nose so high in the air that Shikamaru was sure Neji ran into every wall, rock, and tree root imaginable. He was a piece of work put simply, but once the two are stuck in a secluded study, Shikamaru finds that he can't brush the Hyuga off as easily.

The Hyuga pulled a flat can from underneath his bed and opened its top before setting it in his window sill where the bird was perched. Only when the bird was eating the canned sardines did it stop its blood curdling call.
“Is that your pet?” Shikamaru asked.
Neji turned on yet another dim lamp shade. “Friend.”
“I was told you didn’t have any,” Shikamaru joked with a flatline to ease his nerves.
“You trust in what they say because you find it easier to relate to them.”
His words steered the Nara’s attention from the sardine can that was torn in two. “What? What’s your deal?” Shikamaru asked. He wasn’t offended by whatever Neji spewed, but now that he was surrounded by all things gothic pilgrim, he felt it appropriate to ask. Instead of an answer, there was a knock at the door.
Neji crossed the bed to answer it and there on a tray were glasses of water and a glass pitcher to refill.
“You guys have a butler,” Shikamaru remembered, but at the sight of something new in the corner of his eye, he glanced over his shoulder into the foggy mirror. There was nothing apart from his clouded image and the shades of the rest of the room.
“We have a lot of help around the house,” Neji said.
