Besides - whatever life he’d led before had left him stranded in Michigan midwinter, with no recollection as to how he’d gotten there. All he’d been left with was a single coin to his name.
A life like that? Surely there wasn’t anything worth remembering.
It would be a bit more bareable though, if he could just stop dreaming of those deep blue eyes every time he fell asleep.
