“Messy little thing,” his voice came down and honeyed. Then, he swept his damped bangs aside, pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket, and tapped it gently on his forehead. He tilted his head, glancing at him. In a split second, Xia Fei was filled with a strange sensation, as if the redhead could see through his soul. He felt vulnerable, exposed. A hint of doubt flashed through the blond’s eyes, and he subconsciously uttered “Who are you?”
He carefully folded the piece of cloth and put it back in his coat pocket, his facial features softened, the smile still plastered to his lips. “I am who you want me to be,” he walked in circles around him, ogling him. “Your boss, your confidant, your friend…” he whispered in the shell of his ear “...your lover.”
Xia Fei’s world has turned upside down since Vein’s death. As much as he tries to keep it together, it’s hard when his mother is dealing with a terminal disease. One day, he receives the visit of a detective who challenges him to confront his past. What will Xia Fei do? Overcome his former boss’s demise or unravel the mystery that surrounds it?

Felix recoils into his seat.
“I said no.”
Liu Xiao smiles with all the warmth of a snake bearing its fangs. “Such restraint.”
He takes his time licking the syrup from his fingers.
Felix’s hands are curled tightly in his lap, and he looks everywhere but at Liu Xiao. No doubt wishing they were already at their destination. Too bad for him, Liu Xiao had already taken pains to ensure their route would be stretched out, much like his restraint had to be.
Such resolve, he can’t wait to see it finally shatter.Perhaps Liu Xiao hasn’t been paying Felix proper attention at all.

Vein sat on the floor over a rug he’d given Felix, to spruce the place up, he’d said; he glanced up from the book—mahjong secrets and strategies, fifth edition—and gave the Prince one of his raised-brows, questioning-frown expressions.
“Eh?”
“The castle is tiring me out—do you know how many randos I have to meet in a day? I need a break. Take me with you next time you come, okay?”
Vein hummed, the syllable stretching long, a little melodic. “Sure,” he said, after what seemed like deep consideration. “I’ll kidnap you.”
Prince Felix cheered. “Alright!”
Or, the one where Prince Felix half-jokingly makes a suggestion, and Vein takes said suggestion very, very seriously.

Felix sits up, the wooden bed creaking, his lips parted. His hair is all tussled from the long slumber; from brushing up against death. But Vein had taken care to strip off the sticky sweet blood-stained shirt he wore before and replace it with a billowing white one. Clean, soft cotton. He looks good in it of course, but staring at him he can't help but notice the sharpness in his eyes and the way they flit over the contents of the room in a frenzied search. Ah. Still hovering beside the bed, Vein glances over to the door. He should’ve known to bring food—Vein was starved when he was first turned. But he barely faces away from Felix before the boy’s hand traps him in a vice-like grip. Surprised, curious, Vein lets him.
“Where are you going—” Felix tugs Vein towards him, embracing him, a slight shudder reminding Vein of Felix's teeth clamped over his flesh— “Don't leave, laoban, please…”After Xia Fei receives a fatal wound, Vein grants him his wish to stay—the consequence? A newly turned, sickly vampire who refuses to eat.

Vein positioned one of Xia Fei’s arm onto his waist. The other intertwined with Vein’s. Raised comfortably. Vein had his hand on Xia Fei’s upper arm, the same arm that he used to pull Xia Fei out of the main room until here.
The lights above them shined Xia Fei’s face. Even when it’s bruised, even if it’s battered and unfixable, Vein would cherish it and hold it on his palms forever.
Vein smirked. “You’ll take the dominant role.”
Xia Fei shook his head. “What— I can’t—”
“You can. And you will. Just follow me and the rhythm. If it’s too fast, tell me to slow down.” For a moment, he brushed the back of his finger against Xia Fei’s cheek. “Do you trust me?”
It knocked Xia Fei away. He nodded. “I do.”
Or, after getting a bruise from falling down in his drunken state, Vein agreed to teach Xia Fei how to dance.

He whistles as they wait, the crisp tap tap tap of a loafer against the ground, out of time with the thundering of the incoming train. Filling the not-silence. Xia Fei expects a reprimand: you haven’t been answering my calls, or my messages, a cool laugh low like the rumbling of metal, are you trying to provoke me, Felix? A firm hand on his shoulder, or a softer, still calloused one tilting up his chin, directing Xia Fei’s defiant eyes right at him.
Or, Xia Fei hasn't been taking care of himself, and ignoring Vein. After fainting on set, Vein comes to him, and takes him home.
