  5. Summary

This work is in the same/similar AU known as "Indentured"- Another series under this au would be Servio Sumus by EmeraldHeiress
and the fic The Memory of Innocence by steampunkunicorn
However, the general gist of this au is that after the Ruusan Reformation the Jedi slowly became more and more like slaves beholden to the Senate. By the time of the clone wars they are slaves in everything but name- how do you refuse Senator's requests when they have the power to turn off the heat to your creche, or stop sending medicine to your old? To stop feeding you?
    You can't say no.

    Summary

    “I’m not Neal.”

Peter nearly bit off his own tongue with how quickly he cut himself off. “What?”

The copy of Neal Caffrey flicked the safety back onto his gun. He set it on the floor, not particularly far away from him, but not within easy distance either. Slowly, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled something out. It was small and shiny, the kind of trinket that Neal loved to fiddle with during debriefs. After it was out for a few seconds, the man tossed it toward Peter.

He caught it. It was a CIA badge.

“Believe it or not, this isn’t the first mix-up we’ve had,” the agent said, cracking a wry smile. “Now, if you’d be so kind as to trade me your badge, I think we’ll all be able to talk this out pretty easily.”

“You look just like him,” he said dumbly.

The agent shrugged, looking up from where he’d been examining the badge. “Yeah, that’s something that can happen with twins.”

or, Neal's identical twin is a CIA agent. It sure would've been nice to know that before they, in no particular order, nearly caused a CIA-FBI shootout, traumatized a new probie, started a food fight in the nicest restaurant in the city, and unwittingly switched places in the middle of a mission

    Summary

Gustave sits at the cliffside with Maelle tucked to his side. He’s writing— because of course he is. Writing was the gift he had been born with. Stories came to him as easily as breath to his lungs. Use of words had been forged into his very soul even when he was denied so. Even now, while he does not remember.

Verso never understood it, though perhaps his kind were never meant to — creating worlds with lavish vocabulary over the graceful stroke of a brush — and yet he never found them any less beautiful when written by him.

In another life, Verso — the true Verso — had risked everything for those pretty words, in another world where the blending of art and literature was forced apart, made forbidden and long thought impossible.

In this life — or unlife, perhaps — he can only stare at both parts of his heart with a hollowed soul and memories of fire upon his skin.

(In which Gustave lives, and Verso’s Canvas harbors one more grief-stricken soul.)

9/25/2025 - DISCONTINUED. Left the fandom. No motivation to write this any longer. Do not read if expecting it to update.

    Summary

“So,” Maelle starts, sidling up to him at the fire. “How long have you been alive?”

He snaps another stick into two and throws it into the fire. They both watch as brown leaves and bark curl and blacken, disappearing into wisps of smoke. “Would you believe me if I said I lost count?”

She narrows her eyes at him. “No,” she ventures, “but I can do the math myself.”

Verso knows Maelle is in the Canvas before Clea ever tells him. A story about the lengths a brother will go for his sister, and the ways in which she might change him along the way.
