Summary
Geralt watches the men with a disinterested gaze, only letting out a deep, rumbling hum when they pass by the table. And then he suddenly snaps his eyes back to Jaskier and frowns.
“A room?” he asks.
It took him long enough to catch on. Jaskier nervously chuckles, rubs the back of his neck, squirms in his seat; the way Geralt’s looking at him—not quite annoyance, not quite hatred, mostly just very scary—is making him uneasy.
“Uh,” he says, waving his hand in what he hopes is a casual, dismissive gesture, “well, you see, when I said I had to budget because we’re almost out of money, um—I could only afford to get us one room, since, y’know, we have to eat too and I’m not just going to let us starve so we can have a bit of privacy and anyway, I feel like we’ve known each other long enough that it wouldn’t be an—”
Geralt hasn’t stopped frowning. Jaskier swallows, and suddenly, he’s very hot, and the room is suffocating, and the fabric of his shirt is ridiculously itchy.
“—issue,” he finishes, the word fading on his tongue.

Warmth suddenly envelops his shoulders and back. Jaskier looks over and blinks at the sight of the Witcher draping a cloak over Jaskier’s shoulders. It takes him a moment to realise that it’s Geralt’s cloak, one of them at least, the one that he keeps in a saddlebag. He glances up at the Witcher. “What—”
“Your shivering is making too much noise,” the Witcher grunts, shuffling over to his side of the cave. All that rings out between them is the storm outside and the crackling of the fire. The cloak is dry and clean and it faintly smells like the Witcher. He catches the edges of it and wraps the cloak around himself. Warmth worms through his skin, and muscles, even reaching his bones. Jaskier’s tongue sits heavily in his mouth. The words that tumble out of him are clumsy.
“Thank you, Geralt.”

“G’rlt…” Jaskier untangled himself from the sheets, peering at the witcher wobbling against the wall. “Are you drunk?” Geralt grinned even more. Jaskier sighed. That’d be a yes, then.
Jaskier doesn't play gwent, and he doesn't care for the tournaments that Geralt loves so dearly. So he's tucked up comfortably in their shared bed when Geralt, utterly smashed, returns from a successful competition seeking drunken cuddles - and a chance to boast about his newest, most valuable card.

The witcher tries everything to scare him off and each time Geralt pushes Jaskier away the songbird comes back with more determination.Geralt stops trying after a while and accepts his fate as Jaskier's muse. This burden slowly seems to become a need and Geralt is not ready to handle his own feelings when he was denying them throughout his whole life.

Who cares about a mutant's sleeping habits?

Jaskier has a new beard - and Geralt hates it. To prove how bad the beard is, he proposes a wager: if Jaskier can’t get a kiss by midnight, he has to shave it off. But the bard’s untrustworthy at the best of times, so Geralt adds a stipulation: if Jaskier does lose, Geralt is the one who gets to shave him.
