The rattle of the shitty motel air conditioner did nothing to drown out the sound of Sam retching behind the bathroom door.
Dean cringed as a particularly pained cough sounded from inside the bathroom, he tried not to sigh too heavily. He knew better than to force the truth out of Sam. That didn’t work out too well last time.

“Dean, you can calm down, it’s not what it looks like.” His brother insisted, his voice growing smaller as he trailed off. “I don’t do that anymore.”
The sincerity in Sam’s voice made Dean want to trust him, and his big, shiny eyes weren’t helping. But this wasn’t the first barely touched meal.
“If you say so.” Dean settled.
It also wasn’t the last time Sam fled to the bathroom immediately after eating. Maybe Dean was being conspiratorial, but when he’d suspected Sam was starving himself he’d been right, of course.

“you’re- you’ll die, jisung,” felix whispers as if he’s afraid to speak the word any louder, as if he’ll speak it true. “if you stay here-“ he pauses to sniffle, “-you’ll- you’re ill.” and jisung gets it. he knows what felix means; he’s ill on the outside but on the inside too. he’s deteriorating, wasting away in a heap of grime, sweat, tears, blood. he can feel the way his body has made an imprint on the bed, sinking deeper and deeper into the crevice until he feels claustrophobic with it. until everything encompasses him, trapping him in a pit of his own filth and despair.
“i can’t let that happen.”
they’re both just a little fucked up. both on imperfect, improper paths with no real intention of helping the other get better but no intention to make the other worse either.
a solid middle ground. a push and pull force.
maybe this is what makes jisung and felix work. maybe this is the reason they shouldn’t.
maybe this is reason to get better.

“Hyung?” Seungmin’s voice, low and groggy from sleep, confusedly calls out through the phone.
Chan can hear the gentle ruffling of bed sheets in the background, no doubt Seungmin coming upon the realization that his lover is not lying beside him as he roughly pats the empty side of the bed.
“Channie-hyung, baby boy,” panic rising in Seungmin’s usually steady, nasal-like voice. “Why aren’t you in bed? Where are you?”
Alternatively: A suicidal Chan phones his lover from atop a bridge.

They truly love each other, but the road is a long one through self-deprecation, pressure from the Idol Industry, pressure from family, and miscommunications. Minho begins to spiral faster than anyone could grasp with dangerous consequences.

He didn't understand, so he pushed it down as far as he could. As long as he got things done and took care of his boys, he was fine. Right?
Sometimes it takes almost falling over the edge completely before you can stand yourself back up again, and Chan has to learn to open up to his members before it's too late, and Stray Kids loses Bangchan for good.

“No,” Changbin shook his head. “The only thing that had occurred was him being exuberant.”
“Which has just gone. He’s… he seems just gone,” Chan said slowly, eyes finally meeting Minho’s.
What Minho had had with Hyunjin was complicated, to say the least. Their relationship had blossomed from a drunken accident when Hyunjin confessed that he never had gotten a chance to have a kiss with a guy. Minho, on his third beer, had offered to fill the spot for Hyunjin to try, resulting in probably their most memorable kiss. Sour breathed and experimental, a clock set for doom.
They hadn't put a label on it, and occasionally came up to each other to learn, to know. They shared the same hunger, the same fire to the flame that buzzed underneath their skin at every contact. Minho had and was Hyunjin's first and vice versa.
"We… We were close," Minho mumbled.

I can’t sleep and I can’t stay awake. I feel so… disassociated.”
