Cassie hums against her skin, unrepentant. "Hm?" Like she doesn't know exactly what the problem is, teeth poking out in a sharp grin that skim over her protruding glenohumeral joint. Dana half expects her to bite down but she doesn't, all teasing sensation and skimming touches.
Finally, blessedly, Dana fits the key in the lock and gets it turned. "If you keep doing that, we'll earn an indecent exposure complaint from the neighbors."
Cassie's mouth curves against Dana's neck, her tongue very quickly slipping out to taste her skin and running over the length of her shoulder and into the crook of her neck. Her voice is raspy in Dana's ear when she murmurs, "I don't know, it might be worth it."

Dana raised an eyebrow. “Never seen a coffee pot?”
“Like, I’ve never seen the pot itself, you know? Just, like, the espresso machines at Starbucks, Keurigs—those sort of things.”
Dana’s arched eyebrow ticked up a centimeter higher as she squinted at Emma for a long moment.
Abruptly anxious beneath her scrutiny, Emma reached for her waist to fidget with something, only to remember the charge nurse had plucked most of her belongings from her pockets on arrival. She settled with flicking her name badge between her fingers.
“Kid, are you younger than this coffee maker?”

The only person who notices the sadness behind her sharp eyes is Cassie, and she’s not going to stop until she finds out what is weighing their lynchpin down so heavily.

“Y'know what Emily? Go get fucked! I'm leaving.” JJ finished still seething with anger as she stormed out of the office and past the glaring eyes of her colleagues who tried, and failed, to avert their gaze, still attempting to process what had just happened before themselves.
She sunk into the couch under the weight of her actions, putting on some shitty new dating show that she said she couldn't care less about, her lips hung around the bottle's in a desperate kiss as she drowned herself in alcohol as her apartment around her started to turn into an unintelligible haze.
Still, as her blood alcohol levels rose, her mind kept reverting back to Emily whilst she continued to debate if she was in the right or wrong. JJ couldn't stop debating within herself when her phone started to ring. She picked it up and as she read the caller ID her wine glass fell out of her hand and onto the rug below her. Emily had called.

Emily’s so caught up between her memory and the JJ in front of her, dripping wet, eyes ablaze that she’s unable to move, hasn’t yet been able to formulate something to say in response to JJ’s, It’s raining. She’s so tangled up in the vision of her, that siren song plucking at her heart strings, that she barely catches the subtle changes in JJ’s face as a decision is being made.
Emily hardly registers JJ’s purposeful movement over the threshold before she’s holding both sides of Emily’s face in her hands; the fingers of her right hand, palm against Emily’s left cheek, curl behind her ear, and her left hand contours Emily’s jaw, her thumb tracing over Emily’s bottom lip, gently parting them before replacing her thumb with her own lips. Slotting them against Emily’s.
