“Did you know that the skies are fake?”
As a nine year-old former Khaenri’an prince, Kaeya knows many things they really shouldn’t. About Gnoses, for example. Their future adoptive family, for another. About the curse that has befallen their people, the secrets of several archons, the birds and the bees, the future of Teyvat as a whole... all thanks to their memories of a past life where they were a hot mess of a college student who had no idea what they were doing and played a certain popular gacha game.
Kaeya still has no idea what they are doing, and this time lives are riding on their decisions. As things stand, their adoptive father is doomed to die on their brother’s eighteenth birthday. So they have to figure out how to prevent a premeditated murder via Fatui Harbinger within eight years, while also hiding nearly every core facet of themself for their entire childhood - because Kaeya is so fundamentally terrified of rejection that they cannot reveal their true self to anyone. Not even the people they love and trust most.
Time does not heal all wounds. Not without proper treatment - and Kaeya, who never lets anyone know them in their entirety, has left theirs to fester.

Where I will post snippets of self-inserts that are just plot bunnies I can't shake or entertaining enough that they have been officially cleared to leave the deep, dark recesses of what most people will call a 'Google Docs'. This depends entirely on my mood and current fandom of obsession, so some may be single-scene one-shots while others might be vaguely continuous.
The Latest Shitpost:
(Detective Conan)
Shinichi hovers over the body. It’s been hours and it hasn’t stirred. Shinichi isn’t sure if it ever will. It feels weird to call the child lying on the ground an it, but that’s... basically what it is.
Because that’s Shinichi’s body. Ghosts are apparently real, because Shinichi is one now. Somehow, the poison he was force-fed had shrunken his body on top of ejecting his consciousness from it. His body, which is somehow still breathing despite Shinichi not being attached to it.
Then the security guards arrive, and his body wakes up.

Summary
The thing about being a teenaged superhero is that no one ever tells you how much it sucks. None of them would trade the friends they’d found in each other for the world, but it’s unbelievably stressful. Having to keep a secret identity while trying not to flunk out of school is already bad enough. Add on the fact that not even your teammates are allowed to know your identity, your supervillain being able to turn you against the city if you feel too much negative emotions about anything, and his ability to read his victims’ minds?
The heroes will be lucky if they defeat Hawkmoth before any of them graduate.
(Of course, Kaeya already knows his brother is the famous Ladybug hero Scararouge. Really, only a Ragnvindr could pull off that shade of violently red hair.)

Current Destination in Spacetime:
(Kimi ga Shine / Genshin Impact)
The Eleventh Fatui Harbinger lies before him, unarmed and completely defenseless. The red key Xingqiu had used to unlock his own restrains weighs heavy in the palm of his hand.
A bitter expression crosses Childe’s face. His empty blue eyes bore into Xingqiu’s very soul. “Ah. So you’re going to let me die.”
Xingqiu’s hands curl into fists. The edges of the key dig into his palm. “I didn’t say that.”
“I can see it on your face, comrade. You’re considering it.” Childe smiles. Xingqiu hates it. He’s seen a plethora of fake smiles from the Harbinger before, but even those had some kind of substance to them. The smile on his face now is just... empty. “I can’t say I blame you.”

Life as Gamzee Makara isn't exactly the happiest one. It's certainly not the worst, but- it's not great. It doesn't help that they're wholly unaccustomed to the merciless brutality of the Alternian lifestyle, too used to the idyllic peace of a suburban Earth town.
Most trolls are hardened by their harsh circumstances. Violence is natural to them, because they have never known anything else. Gamzee has. They know the world can be better - have lived in a world where things are better - and that makes it difficult to cope.
And as if that weren't enough already, the imminent Doom of the timeline looms over their head - their very existence threatens the lives of everyone they have ever known. If they don't keep things the same, their timeline will diverge from the Alpha and everyone will die. And they will have no one to blame but themself.
No matter how desperately they wish to, they can't save everyone. It's all that Gamzee can do to preserve the livelihoods of the few who are destined to survive.

Summary
In the years following his now-estranged brother’s flight from Mondstadt, Kaeya makes a friend. They’re not very close friends - more like friendly, somewhat overfamiliar drinking buddies than anything else - but Kaeya enjoys his company. The man doesn’t expect anything from Kaeya, and for his company Kaeya doesn’t have to do anything but show up for drinks once or twice a week. It’s nice.
But then the lines between casual companionship and actual attachment begin to blur, and the other starts getting... touchy. Kaeya thinks he’s imagining it at first, but he’s not. He knows he’s not.
It’s easy to say that, but it’s a lot harder to truly believe it.

Summary
Kim Uchan is a psyker trainee. His dream has always been to become a top psyker, and though it’s a far-off goal, he’s on the right track to fulfill it. He has all the hallmarks of a promising psyker; a strong ability, strong morals, a strong sense of duty. He is a psyker, and is mission is to obliterate all villains. It’s as simple as that.
Or at least, it should be as simple as that. Reality is a bit more complicated.
It starts when he meets Gwon Gangu. His mind is suddenly rebelling against him - it keeps telling him that the values he’s held to be true for so long are wrong, and beyond all reason his subconscious mind is convinced that Gangu is somehow Cassian Lee. The random headaches aren’t helping, either.
If things don’t start making sense soon, Uchan is going to lose it.

Summary
Everything was supposed to end with the Game. Once the players entered the new universe, it was all supposed to be over. The living would start new lives in a new world. The dead would stay dead, their afterlives ended and their ghosts given peace at last.
But then the dead wake up. As humans, no less. And the living don't get the fresh start that they were promised.
Only a third of the trolls-turned-human remember anything about their former lives or the Game, and the actual humans are mysteriously missing. Strange monsters start attacking the city, and their unawakened friends are going missing one by one.
So, obviously, the solution to all of this is to become the new universe's first real superheroes.

Summary
Life as Gamzee Makara isn’t exactly the happiest one. It’s not miserable, but- not the happiest. It’s worse when you’re not accustomed to living on a planet full of violent children and lusii and far more death than there ever was in your typical suburban Earth town.
Also, the sun burns you. That’s just fucking sad. Gamzee really fucking misses the sun. The moons are cool and all, but seriously, they would kill for twenty minutes with a nice, warm spot of sunlight to doze off in. Did they mention that they really miss the sun? Seriously. Vampire burning-in-the-sun traits. Tragic.
If only they were fated to actually make it to the new universe after everything was said and done, all the battles fought and won.
(They never read the epilogues, so they have some hope - but not very much. Not very much at all.)

Tim knows they aren’t a good person. They’re not a bad person, but they aren’t really good. Their morals are a touch too flexible for that, and absolutely nothing will convince them to mess with the greater DCU timeline. Tim could do so much for so many people - save lives, prevent tragedies, give help to people who need it - but they’re selfish, so they only want one thing.
They want to save Jason Todd. That’s it. That’s all they want. To make a difference for just one person. Tim doesn’t need to be a CEO, or Robin, or have a real family. Honestly, that all sounds like a lot of responsibility they’re too tired to bother with. They just want Jason to be happy, god fucking damn it, and if they have to fight fate itself to make that happen then they’ll do it or die trying.
Figuring out the rest of their life comes after that.

Summary
You are in a subway car.
The people around you speak words you can’t understand; you only know it’s Korean by virtue of your occasional proximity to the language at home. Your outfit has been changed without your knowledge, though thankfully it’s still made up of clothes from your closet. Your phone is clutched tight in one hand. Your dad's old pocket knife from his army days - appropriated a while back by yours truly - is tucked carefully up your sleeve.
You... don’t remember boarding a subway car. Your state doesn’t have a subway.
Then, the dokkaebi appears in casual slaughter and cruel gestures of power.
Then, this world that is not yours is made bloodied and turned on its head.

“I fucking hate this.”
There is no response. The lava bubbles gently, white noise to their ears after days trapped in this obsidian box. It is one of the few sounds the cell has to offer, crisp and clear through the silence of their isolation.
Of all the people they could have been, why the hell did it have to be Dream?
Or: Being stuck in Pandora’s Vault is NOT fun. It’s even less fun when everyone else thinks you’re a megalomaniac psychopath with a manipulative streak and a god complex. It’s a downright nightmare when you realize you’re not alone in your head, and whatever’s in there is definitely not on your side.

In another universe, eight travelers are reborn to a world where magic has been replaced by rainbow-colored flames.
AKA: in which i take a knife to canon, because therion is ABSOLUTELY a Cloud but i am NOT making him hibari kyouya, i am biased towards main character h’aanit, and i have a tendency to make cyrus suffer. also their little group has two Skies, and no one understands how it works because logically the presence of two active Skies and a full set of Elements in such a tight-knit friend group would cause turbulence like no fucking tomorrow as the Skies fight over the rest of them, but they just don’t and somehow it works out splendidly.

A word of advice: Always check the bookplates before reading anything that even vaguely resembles a book. Most people learn this lesson the hard way.
The Hallways lead to all the places that have never been, and time is more suggestion than fact in its corridors. It’s only natural, then, that it can serve as a doorway between universes... given the right tools. Such as, say, a Leitner book - perhaps displaced from its rightful universe to a library in a world typically out of the Fears’ reach.
Typically. For a Leitner that deals specifically in warping spacetime via the Distortion, such boundaries are a moot point.
Halfway around the planet, apparently six years in the past, and countless universes over, Forf is... well, lost. Stuck with a now nonfunctional Leitner book, the Magnus Institute is their only lead home.
They know it’s dangerous. They know people are going to die. They know five episodes’ worth of knowledge and a handful of trivia will never be enough to save anyone.
They have to try.

That is a core.
That is a core, lying bright yet weak and vulnerable in a messy pool of ectoplasm (that must have been their body, fuck fuck fuck) - the literal embodiment of a ghost’s being. A core is basically equivalent to a soul. And his parents are right here, standing over it with gleaming scalpels and grins of delight - as if they hadn’t just stripped a person of their entire body, as if they aren’t about to dissect and pull into pieces the most intimate part of their very being-
“Fascinating, isn’t it?” Mom says, her fingers ghosting over the surface of the painfully (wrongfully) exposed core.
(Help them. Help them. Protect protectprotect, isn’t that your job, isn’t that what you’re still here for?)
All notions of a plan get thrown out the window.

Summary
In a world of quirks, there’s exactly one genus of humanity that lives an overall more dismal existence than the quirkless. It’s not those with ‘villainous’ quirks.
If you’re one of them? You’d better be running. Running, or hiding; those are your only options, if you like living. (The alternative is far, far worse).
It’s hard to acknowledge she’s one of them, but it’s the undeniable truth; there remains two facts, clear as day.
One: She died.
Two: She’s not dead anymore.
In this world, that means you hide, and you hide yourself well, or you run for your little immortal life; otherwise, you get to be the government’s lab rat for the rest of eternity. And that’s hardly an appealing thought.
(“Can I become a hero? Even if everyone thinks I’m a monster?”
No one answers. Of course not. There’s no one here to reply; no one she could ever trust enough to confess her secret to.
“…Fuck it. Fuck what they all say - I was going to be hero anyways. Immortality isn’t going to change that.”
They don’t get to control her life, and by the gods is she going to do her fucking best to live.)Series

Natsuo was just a tired high school student (and done with life's shit). Then, out of nowhere, he got a suspicious text from some random number, complete with the unasked-for location and a fake-sounding name that seems better-suited to that of a quirk’s.
Things snowballed from there, and slowly, his world shifts on its axis.
(He can't say he regrets it.)
