Summary
Vash returns by his side, flashing him an embarrassed smile. Seeing him naked in these circumstances is certainly preferable to the humiliating way he revealed himself in front of the whole town that welcomed him, but Wolfwood stays focused on Vash’s face, the sourness of those events still too heavy on his tongue to indulge in the sight.
He’d wonder how a man’s self-worth can sink this low, if it wouldn’t be so hypocritical of him—and Vash didn't look like he cared, anyway.

Summary
It’s a statement so preposterous that Childe’s instinct is to laugh. However, Zhongli’s eyes are so burdened and sorrowful that he can’t bring himself to do so. Not letting go of Zhongli, he slides out from under the warm haven of the covers to perch on the edge of the bed, patting the spot next to him. “I’m uh, not sure what’s going on here, but come here. A problem shared is a problem halved, after all!”
He gives Zhongli his most persuasive, winning smile and Zhongli relents, lowering himself to sit by Childe’s side. While he keeps a cautious distance between them, his body radiates a warmth that Childe longs to lean into, and he shuffles toward Zhongli to close the gap as much as he dares.
“Now, are you gonna tell me what the problem is, or are you going to leave me guessing?”
Zhongli tightens his grip on Childe’s hand, pressing a little firmer against the ring. “I am concerned that my relationship with you might be… problematic.”
In which Zhongli has an existential crisis about his age and Childe has to reassure his silly dragon fiancé.

“Zhongli? Zhongli xiansheng?” he called out, surprised at how breathless and hoarse his own voice sounded. Energy drained, he leaned his head back against the wall, praying that Zhongli heard him the first time; he didn’t possess the strength to try again.
No sooner had his head touched the wall, the door to the left flew open, a dishevelled looking Zhongli rushing in wearing only his trousers and a half-buttoned shirt, his hair wet and loose down his back.
“Childe? This is most unexpected.” His eyes widened as he looked Childe up and down, fixating on the small puddle of blood forming on the floor at Childe’s feet.
“Hey, xiansheng,” said Childe, his adrenaline draining away at the sight of his saviour, leaving him lightheaded and swaying on his feet. “Funny to see you here, ha…” His legs trembled beneath him before giving way, and he crumpled to the floor.
After a late night mission goes wrong, Childe finds himself out of people to turn to for help, except for a certain funeral parlour consultant.

Summary
Childe dragged his eyes open, hoping that when he looked toward the entrance of the cave there would be a pair of golden eyes greeting him, a soothing voice to tell him that he was safe, that he’d come to take him home.
But there was nothing apart from lifeless grey stone.
Slumping back with his eyes slipping closed once again, Childe barely registered the solid rock beneath him. Instead, a swaying weightlessness had taken over, lulling him toward unconsciousness. He didn’t resist. Anything that could take away the pain. Anything, just for a short moment of relief.
He slipped away into the darkness.
The day before Zhongli and Childe have agreed on meeting for dinner for the first time since the raising of Osial, Childe is injured on a mission, leaving him stranded and unable to return to Liyue. When Childe doesn't show up for their meal, Zhongli sets out to ensure that Childe comes home safely.

The only thing more difficult than completing a mission in a nation where Childe is hated, is completing a mission in a nation where he’s being threatened with imminent deportation.
Out of alternatives and with failure not an option, the only way he can hope to remain in Liyue is by entering a relationship with one of its residents. He can think of only one person eccentric enough to go along with such a suggestion.
OR: The inherent awkwardness of undertaking a secret mission while falling in love with the guy you’re fake dating for your residency permit.
