Veronica glanced back, watching Cata leave. A part of her wished she would stay.
But how could she? How could she expect her to stay, to help, to offer her support? Especially after everything, after she pushed her away yesterday, after realizing Cata is practically the entire reason this is happening in the first place? She knows Cata would help her, if only ‘her’ wasn’t *her*.
She wishes she was someone else, someone who never hurt her. Maybe someone she loved. Maybe someone who never knew her at all.

As Will walked up to the house, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Will.” He heard Mike say in a cold, distant voice.
“Mike? What’s wrong?”
“I hope he gets you.”
“W-what?” He thought he heard wrong, shaking his head.
“You heard what I said. I hope he kills you.” Mike poked Will’s chest, making him stumble back.
“Mike, wha-“
“I hate you. You think I’d love you? You’re disgusting.”
“Mike, I-“ He looked down at Mike’s hand, which was digging into his chest. It had started to grow into a claw.
