Summary
“Playerfriend” is a ship between the Player, represented as a Vessel, and IMAGE_FRIEND, a character that is yet to fully be revealed in Deltarune’s story. The Vessel in this story is meant to be an adult, which is why they lack the striped shirts that are commonly found on children in the series. The characterization of FRIEND is entirely made up for now, so it’s almost certainly not going to align with how they act and speak, if at all, during the latter end of Deltarune’s story once it releases.
Crucially, while there is no explicitly sexual material written here, much of its content is suggestive, and should be read with that expectation in mind.
That being said, this isn’t just a piece of fiction meant to ship two characters together. This is a love story, though maybe these characters wouldn’t consider it one just yet. The lights inside the lift were too soft, the chrome too polished. Tenna could see his reflection ten different ways from where he stood, arms crossed tightly, trying not to look like he was holding his breath. Spamton rocked slightly on his heels, humming tunelessly— some drunken version of a jingle from earlier in the night. His tie was loose, barely hanging on. One shoulder of his jacket had fallen off. It should’ve looked sloppy, but somehow it made him look comfortable. Relaxed.
Like he did this kind of thing all the time.
The elevator doors pinged open and Spamton was already walking.
