Since one fell first and the other fell harder. In the beginning, they made sure to be with each other for the ups and downs. At least Felix thought so, because he found himself back to his hometown again after years running from it.

Summary

He finishes swiping the floor and moves behind the counter to put away the left over pastries of the day when he hears the bell from the entrance door jingling.
“Sorry, but we’re already closed.”
He says from where he’s crouched behind the counter looking for a box.
“Oh, I saw the lights on and thought that you were still open. I’m sorry.”
It takes a moment for the voice to get through his tired brain, but when it does, the blonde gets up in a second, dark spots blink on his vision as he gapes at the sight of the man standing in the middle of his cafe. His black clothes are a contrast against the pastel colors of the place, he wears a black mask on his face and a black cap on top of his head, but Felix would recognize that voice and those upturned eyes anywhere.
Hwang Hyunjin. Hwang Hyunjin is standing in his store in all his glory. Felix’s favorite idol, the man he has had a crush on since before his debut is standing there as if it was any other ordinary Tuesday night.

It started with a simple request - a favor for a favor.
"Can you pretend to be my boyfriend?" Felix had asked out of the blue. A scheme cooked up by the boy to make his crush open his eyes.
Hyunjin's world turns on its axis when he receives the request. You see, he's not too surprised Felix asked him. They're best friends; and for all Felix knows, Hyunjin is straight. Much less is he aware of the feelings Hyunjin has for him.
"Okay," Hyunjin agreed.
He knew it would hurt, that he was essentially breaking his own heart in the process of making his friend happy.
He just... never thought of Felix's part of the equation. Never really considered the consequences of missing half of the variables - how greatly he miscalculated;
Thinking there was no way Felix harbored any feelings in return would be the greatest of them.

“Yeah. What? Did you expect me to stay for you?” Hyunjin’s words were harsh and cold. Tears pricked the corners of Felix’s eyes, a hard lump forming in his throat. He just stared at Hyunjin, unable to speak, afraid his emotions would overflow if he did.
Hyunjin stared back at him. “Oh don’t give me that crap.” Hyunjin spat. “Don’t act like what we had was anything special. You know what you signed up for, we both agreed to this.” Those words cut Felix deep. He could hear Chan’s voice ringing in his head. Don’t get involved with him. You know it won’t end well. Tears began to slip down Felix’s face. He couldn’t hold it in any longer, he felt his emotions bubbling up inside him, they were going to spill. “Fuck. You.” Felix’s voice was low and shaky, but he made sure Hyunjin could hear him. Hyunjin just stared at him with an expressionless gaze. “You already did. Look where that got me.” His tone was flat, no love or anger laced beneath it. Hyunjin turned around, got in the back seat of the car, and was driven away.or
