Gon felt his vision blurring as his throat constricted painfully, as if there lay within one thousand needles swallowed from a broken promise. The last thing he had wanted was to draw any attention to himself yet here he was, fighting a full-blown panic attack in the middle of his dearest friends' wedding.
His charade would surely soon be over; he would truly succumb to his emotions in the middle of Killua's special day and expose his unrequited, pathetic feelings to almost all of the people that they held dear.

Five hours later, Armin was still reeling from what seemed to be the impossible. Eren had saved his life twice in one day - Eren had given his own life for Armin’s. Eren could turn into a Titan and Eren did it, willingly, to protect Armin and Mikasa. It didn’t make sense. Armin could not understand why Eren would ever sacrifice himself for a person as worthless as he was.
Five days later, after the dust had settled some; after Eren’s Titan had been tentatively accepted, he would find out that Eren had done it out of love for Armin.
As he clasped Eren’s hand in his, chest light and butterflies in his stomach making him giddy, he wondered how he could ever say goodbye to such true love.

His breath tickled the hair strands that fanned across Armin’s forehead before he pressed a shy kiss to the top of the younger teen’s head. Armin’s cheeks grew warm with a resulting blush and he timidly squeezed Eren’s hand in a show of affection as he breathlessly replied, “Well – uhm – actually they’re…well, you see, those two stars are Castor and Pollux and they’re the twins that form the Gemini constellation. Killua shrugged, sticking his hands into the pockets of his shorts, before looking off to the side, feigning disinterest. "I don't know Gon," he started; "I'll probably be off showing Alluka Yorknew City or something."
The sister in question gave a squeal of delight and clapped her hands, earning a smile from the two boys, despite the air of melancholy that seemed to envelop them both.
Gon shifted again, tugging lightly at the red trim of his jacket in his nervous anticipation, "Would you mind waiting one night? Just to - uhm - just to let me chat with Ging and then I'll join you or... is that too much to ask?"

Ging was brash and determined, strong-willed and stubborn, but beneath both the physical and psychological prickly layers lurked a shy, compassionate being with strong morals and loyalties. Kite had grown to fondly think of him as a hedgehog - abrasive to his natural environment and companions but soft at his centre.
Ging did not give praises nor did he smile very much at Kite. He laughed - sometimes cruelly - at the predictable misfortune of those who dared oppose him, but he mostly divvied his emotions up between crass humour, grumping, and silence - and yet, Kite still found him endearing.
