Summary
Buck stays standing and makes no effort to leave his spot. “Do you really think you deserve to be touched after that?”
Uh, yeah?
“No,” he says as if he's reading Eddie's thoughts. Buck suddenly becoming telepathic would be useful. “You didn't turn around when I told you to.”
Buck brushes past him as he retrieves the spray bottle and cloth before dropping them on Eddie's lap. “You're going to finish off the polishing and then we'll see what you actually deserve. Okay?”
“Okay.”

Summary
Eddie can feel the goosebumps puckering across Buck’s skin. He’s torn between chasing that feeling, letting the goosebumps spread all over Buck's pale body—or rubbing his fingers over each individual hump and smoothing them out completely.
Eddie gives Buck a massage to help with the pain in his leg after he’s injured on a call. Things…escalate and they get their happy ending after all.

Summary
“He—He had a nightmare,” Buck says. Eddie can tell he’s tugging at his hair. “He was asleep for barely an hour, and now he won’t stop crying. The thunder scares him.”
Before Eddie can ever answer, Theo’s cries interrupt him. His voice wails out a sad, “EDDIE!”
Eddie pauses. “Did he just say my name?”
On the other line, Buck’s breath hitches. Eddie pulls the comforter off himself, already springing into action to find his shoes and car keys.
Still, Buck doesn’t reply. Theo’s sobs are even more earsplitting through the phone. “I want EDDIE!”
“He’s—” Buck sucks in a breath. “He’s asking for you.”
OR: Theo can’t sleep because of the storm. Buck calls Eddie and Christopher for their help.

Summary
Buck is silent on the other side of the curtain. Eddie wonders if maybe he’s given up, if there was enough bite in Eddie’s words to send him the other direction. He takes a trembling breath and watches water where it’s beaded on his lips and nose and lashes before it falls breath-stoked towards the shower floor. Eddie thinks, a little wildly, that this would be the view of the god he prayed to that night in the chapel. The thing that watches everything and answers, that sends the rain and the hurt and the death. The thing his abuela so desperately wanted Eddie to find.
He thought he had when he got that text, in that one breath before the knife. He was so sure he’d figured it out, but water droplets can’t look up, and gods weren’t made to be found.

Eddie gets a pair of wings that may or may not be terminal.

Summary
Buck was Buck. Buck was supportive. Buck was caring. Buck was... Buck was an absolute fucking asshole and Eddie felt like his heart had been ripped out and stomped on.
Eddie let out a deep sigh as he entered the bar, the muggy warmth replacing the biting cold of the night. He hadn't planned on ending up at a bar, hadn't planned on being alone either but here he was.
His home, the place that had always felt safe, the place that held so many good memories, was now the last place he wanted to be. Eddie didn't want to go home ever again. Not after his safe space had been shattered, leaving him walking around with a hole in his heart.
Eddie hadn't planned to confess his feelings for his best friends at the same time as coming out. He'd had a whole other plan for that and it hadn't involved blurting it out in his kitchen like word vomit.
_______
Eddie comes out to Buck and confesses his love at the same time. Buck handles it poorly

Summary
Hovering his thumb over the link, Ravi hesitates for just a moment. Fandom is sacred to some people. It saves lives, even if "normal people" refuse to admit it. Suddenly, Ravi feels like he's overstepping boundaries, because fan-fiction is apart of some people's identities. You learn of a character and relate or love them so much, they gain a part of your soul. Like Ravi with Spider-Man. Like Christopher with Super-Man. Like Buck with…whoever he wrote or read about.
It could simply just be a reader account, Ravi thinks. Maybe all that typing was a comment gushing about how well someone did? And even if it was a writing account, all Ravi would do is look at it. Right?
Right.
Ravi finds Buck's private AO3 account, where Buck writes fan-fiction about Eddie being in love with him. He decides to do something about it.

Summary
Eddie leans back a little, his arms locked tightly around Buck’s waist. “I said I wanted a hug.”
“Is this not what we’re doing right now?”
“'s not a good hug.”
“It’s not?”
“Nope. It’s not how I want it, so it’s not a good hug,” Eddie says resolutely, looking at Buck like he should know this.
“Okay, and how do you want it?”
“I want you to hold me.” Buck’s heart jumps at the words.
“I am holding you.”
“Well, hold me harder,” Eddie demands, his cold nose finding its way into Buck’s neck.
Buck suppresses a gasp as his arms tighten helplessly around Eddie. He pulls him closer to his body, pressing his nose into soft, messy hair. A happy sigh leaves Eddie’s mouth while he relaxes into Buck’s hold.
There's a good chance that Buck is dreaming right now but he decides to just enjoy the moment for what it is because he might not get the chance to embrace Eddie like this ever again. It will go back to normal once his best friend is sober again. He's sure of that.
Or, Eddie appears on Buck's doorstep, clingy and clearly drunk, demands cuddles, crawls into Buck's hoodie, and accidentally confesses his love. It changes everything.

Summary
Buck gets a little antsy and decides to send a dick picture to Leo and clicks the last message he received, which was Eddie. Buck attached the picture without looking at who was receiving the picture. A few moments later, they both hear the ding of a text message. Buck’s eyes went wide, and he looked down at the phone in his hands. Eddie Diaz at the top of the message, image delivered, then read.
Eddie opens his phone, his brown eyes wide, as Buck internally panics at the idea of his best friend getting the picture. “What the hell, man?” Eddie asked, confused.
Let me go jump off a really tall something.
“What?” Buck decided to play stupid because he knew Eddie had just received the message instead of Leo.
Well Eddie knows what my dick looks like?
“Look who you sent that message to.” Eddie stared at him. Eddie’s face was flushing red from both the booze and maybe embarrassment at seeing his best friend’s dick and stomach.
OR; Buck sends Eddie a dick pic, Eddie has some feelings about it, and he takes out those feelings on Buck.

Summary
"You, uh, you ever heard of—of a prostate massage?" Buck asked. He had his hand resting on Eddie's shoulder now, with Eddie still holding onto his wrist.
Eddie huffed out a laugh best he could. "Don't tell me you learned that in, uh, in Peru." He said, trying to keep his voice light and joking as if it would dispell the tense air lighting up the room. As if it could hide the way he felt himself twitch in his briefs hearing Buck say prostate massage.
Buck smiled, not quite laughing as he replied. "No, that one is from other sources." He said. "Really good for stress relief, though. Tried and true."
Eddie shifted underneath Buck, feeling the stiff flagpole tucked away in his pants. He was leaking steadily now, the front of his underwear damp and sticking to him uncomfortably. He let go of Buck's wrist, bringing his hands up to sit underneath his head while he arched his back ever-so-slightly up towards Buck.
"If you think it'll help." He says, hoarse and much more sultry than he meant.

Buck stops chewing the inside of his cheek — which, honestly, he didn’t even realize he was doing.

Summary
“The guy suggested I have a safety person because I’m… inexperienced,” he says, “Better safe than sorry, I guess.”
Buck? Inexperienced? What the h—oh.
Something clicks in Eddie’s head. A safety person. A safe call.
Eddie’s heart hammers in his chest as he realizes exactly what Buck’s asking of him. Suddenly, he understands why Buck’s being all hesitant and evasive in the way he answers. Because Buck’s asking Eddie to check in with him because he’s meeting a Dom and not a date. A Dom that’s not him.
Or, Buck asks Eddie to be his safe call person when he goes to meet a potential scene partner. He never ends up making it past the front door.

“...My husband here is always talking about coming to this restaurant.” Buck holds his breath while waiting for Eddie’s response.
Eddie blushes immediately, “Yeah, I just love the food…” he says, nodding. Buck’s heart skips. He thinks Eddie will leave it at that, but he adds to the lie, “See, we’re celebrating our wedding anniversary tonight.”
(Or, Buck and Eddie keep referring to each other as husbands, it’s undoubtedly nice… They’re not together, no. It’s a best friend thing.)

Summary
“How come you’re still awake?” Buck asks, antsy. He pulls at a loose thread inside one pocket with pinched fingers, rapidly picking apart the stitching. Better to unravel that than eight years of friendship all because said friend’s shorts have ridden up agonizingly at the thigh.
“I was waiting for you to get back. You’re kind of early, though.” Eddie’s eyes are tracked to the TV, but they dart over at Buck when he asks, “You strike out with Dixie?”
Which… Buck doesn’t even know where to start. He desperately needs to buy a vowel.
“Huh? Why—what—did I miss a text?”
Eddie, sat cross-legged on top of pearly-white cotton sheets, a vision so soft it’s making Buck dizzy, has the audacity to look puzzled. “Not from me. Why?”

Summary
“Alright,” Eddie shrugs, laissez-faire. He pulls Buck’s plate to the center of the table; pushes his own forward in kind. Then he begins a drawn-out circus routine of plucking an olive at a time up and out of the bowl and plopping them onto their respective dishes, one by one.
The delicate, repetitive movement of Eddie’s pinched fingers reminds Buck of picking the petals off of flowers. He loves me. He loves me not. He love—
An olive hits him square in the forehead.
“There,” Eddie says, resolute, as the pitted projectile tumbles to the ground at Buck’s feet. “Equal treatment.”
Or: Buck, Eddie, and the olive theory. Well, in theory.

“Shh, no, don’t talk. I just got a response, finally. From the others. They’re coming, Eddie. You’re going to be okay, just stay awake.”
The elevator hadn’t moved yet. They were still trapped in no man’s land, still stuck too far for them to easily get to Eddie and save him. Buck could try to keep faith, but Eddie knew better, and so Eddie had to say it before he lost the chance.
“Buck, listen, I—”
“Eddie, don’t. No goodbyes, okay? Please?”
“I’m not going to die without saying this, so shut up and listen.” Eddie managed to rasp out.
Buck, to his credit, shut up and listened.
