Summary
The kitchen is quiet today. There’s steam floating through the air and a cooker full of rice set to the side, all of it contributing to the humidity that’s currently wrapping around Yunho and grounding his hazy mind to where he sits on the floor, kneeling atop a padded quilt while he watches Seonghwa move around in silence.
yunho and seonghwa have an arrangement.

“You guys are so sweet,” he says, his next sound saccharine and directed at the camera. “I’d expect nothing less from my good boys, hm?”
His laugh at the responses he gains is amused as his gaze flicks up to stare into the lens instead of the slightly delayed view of himself on the monitor below it, his fingers setting the vibrator aside before they reach down to creep between his legs. “And we all know that good boys get rewards.”
it's not unusual for seonghwa to have admirers. this one in particular has been taking it a bit seriously, though.

Summary
Mingi is incapable of resisting the shift of his gaze up towards the strands of hair in his face. And once Hongjoong catches him, he finds himself unable to dart them away.
They blink at each other, owlish. Hongjoong’s eyes shift over Mingi’s features like he’s assessing every twitch of his brows and flex of his jaw, every bat of his lashes and roll of his lips as Mingi tries his best not to squirm.
It must dawn on him, then, when Mingi tries to curl away from it after a long beat of being observed, his heart thumping so loud he doesn’t doubt that everyone else can hear it. He watches as Hongjoong’s gaze softens, and the gentle huff of a laugh he gets in response does nothing but run his blood warm with more glaringly obvious affection.
Hongjoong smiles and says, ever so smart, “Is that what’s bothering you?”
aka, mingi has some feelings about the milan staring contest.

Summary
The clerk regards him with an unimpressed stare, and Yunho watches his jaw clench before a pink bubble starts to push its way out of his mouth. He squirms beneath the gaze travelling across his figure and adverts his eyes, only to jump in place when the gum snaps loud enough to echo throughout the store. Rightfully startled, his attention swivels forward, where Pretty Guy pushes himself up with a heavy sigh and reaches for the scanner beside him.
Yunho’s frightened into staring at his shoes instead of further testing his luck. He’s so focused on chewing the skin of his cheeks and trying to pick at the fruit sticker stuck to the edge of the counter that the question jolts him out of it when it’s asked, accusatory and, frankly, rude.
“Do you even eat real food? And can’t you use a basket for once?”
yunho is a regular at the convenience store near his office. he thinks their night shift worker is a bit . . . unsettling.
(his weirdness is intriguing and he just may want to kiss him on the mouth.)

Summary
In all honesty, he can’t stand to be away from him for more than a day. He needs Seonghwa like he needs air, though there is no way he’ll ever admit that out loud with the risk of losing the only person bringing some sort of peace into his life just one confession away. And so, he has perfected the art of staying silent. Seonghwa never comes to him with his problems and Mingi never pries, even if it hurts his heart when the glass around Seonghwa’s cracks and he’s left a broken soul in the end for Mingi to put back together with too-careful touches and forever-loving hands.
aka, mingi and his rather cynical love for the one he cannot have.

Summary
hongjoong likes being alone. he’s not sure if he necessarily likes being lonely. but he’s coping. he got out of a bad home years ago, leaving his heart behind in a town he could never return to, he should be over it and recovered by now.
recovery isn’t linear, and it becomes even more of a rollercoaster when the boy he left his heart with all those years ago finds him again in the center of a new city; taller and more confident and clearly, distinctly part of a pack that hongjoong would have no place in even if he longed for it.
(it is a risk to love. ‘what if it doesn’t work out?’ oh, but what if it does.)
